It’s hard getting up for class but when you’re wearing a snazzy AE86 backpack, you can slide to school in style. Forget your Jansport, a Japanese shop has made a replica of the Initial D Toyota Sprinter Trueno for all your book- (or tofu-) carrying needs.
Licensed by both Initial D publisher Kodansha and Toyota, the car portion of the backpack is made from plastic and unzips at the base in a clamshell fashion. Like the AE86 itself, it’s pretty light, with total weight at just 900 grams (approx. 2 pounds).
It’s compact, too, measuring 32.5 × 21.5 × 25 cm (12.8 × 8.5 × 9.8 in.) and boasting a capacity of 8 liters. Adjustable shoulder straps and a mesh bottom that goes against your back ensure utmost comfort as you navigate grading curves.
The maker, Camshop, plans a run of only 500, so like unmolested AE86s they will also be rare. They are currently available for pre-order at ¥6,600 ($60 USD), but sadly, only in Japan.
Welp, I’m gonna be in Japan next week, and guess what my coworkers are asking me to bring back…
So cool!!!
I wish they will make more for other JNC cars like Kenmeri and Hakos!!
Are we able to get one of these shipped to the U.S.A.?
Where in Japan can we preorder it?
It is possible to send one backpack to Poland ?
