And now for your viewing pleasure, a pair of X30 Cressidas on plinths. Raising cars on makeshift rock structures is apparently all the rage among the youths in Abha, Saudi Arabia. But lest you think this is the Saudi equivalent of a redneck yard, there are plenty of brand new vehicles given the stone wall treatment (see video and gallery below).
James, JNC’s resident Middle East expert, couldn’t explain it either except to say that some kids in the KSA have more money than they know what to do with. At least it’s safer than hagwalah.

A lot of those cars are brand new! The Camry still has wrapping on it. Do they pull the motors out of these things, or just shove rocks in the wheel wells? I would be more comfortable with this weird form of idol worship if I knew the cars could escape or be rescued!

Wow. This trend is much more creative than sticker bombing a cheap eBay lip or hanging stuffed animals from a tow hook. The rocks look strange under the Cressidas, but the HZJ70 looks right at home.
If you look at the picture with the Cressida in it, you can see the white Camry, in the background, unmolested. On top of that, the Cressida has great treadwear on the tires and they look like they have been armor-all’d! I believe these vehicles have been driven to this local and, for whatever reason, stoned out of their gourd.
Also brand new is an Avalon Limited.
