Hayashi Racing has announced a new product that is sure to be of interest to kyusha owners. These gorgeous rear brake drums are now available for Nissans of the late-60s and 1970s era. The aluminum drums are finned to help dissipate heat, but look beautifully period as well.
The drums are made in Japan and designed to fit classic independent rear suspension Nissan cars, such as the Bluebird, Violet, Laurel, Skyline, Gloria, Cedric, and Fairlady Z. This is a great addition to the many aftermarket parts available for these cars, but this one looks like something that would have been made at the time. Prices start at ¥84,000 ($600 USD) and can be ordered via inquiry at the Hayashi Racing website.

An old trick that folks that race vintage Triumph TR3, 4, 250, and 6, was to use 240Z rear aluminum drums. The center had to be opened up a bit to fit the Triumph hub, and the inner lip has to be machined off, otherwise they are nearly a perfect fit,. This trend stopped when original Datsun parts ran out.
Checked the Hayashi site. No dimensions given so could not determine if usable on other than listed models. Could use diameter and spacing of bolt holes and overall sizing of brake drum. Site is in Japanese but available translation feature of your search engine takes care of that.
I’ve been debating to get some Hayashi STL’s for my Z31. Just a good, clean, classic wheel.

We previously made them to suit S30 only, we have now evolved the design to fit most vintage Nissans with IRS.
