PIXELATED: The A70 Supra is available in Forza Horizon 4 this week only

A couple of months ago we reported that Forza Horizon 4 is finally getting Toyota back in the game. With the exception of the A80 Supra, these cars are available only by completing weekly challenges. So far the roster has included the AE86, 2000GT, and now the A70 Toyota Supra.

The series requires you to complete a three-event challenge of “Street Scene” races, Forza Horizon‘s street racing series. You must use an A-class Japanese car, but you can race in AI, player-vs-player, or co-op team racing modes. While you don’t need to reach first place in every race, you need to get first place overall in the championship to get the Supra.

When I was completing the championship I noticed that all the cars that spawned were more modern ones such as the FD RX-7, NSX, and the new Civic Type R. For this series I would highly recommend building a more balanced car than just a car with a ton of power since the races are exclusively at night and with live traffic. The traffic seems to spawn at the end of not quite every blind turn, but just enough to make you wince at every corner with a poor handling car.

Once you unlock the Mk3 Supra, you’ll find it’s very similar to the Forza Horizon 3 version. It isn’t the powerhouse that the A80 Supra is, but the car is very balanced. A tasteful, box-flared widebody is available and some of the new wheels in Horizon 4 fit the chassis very well. Without doing any engine swaps, the car feels the best at the top of A-class, where it will be a perfect fit for the A-class Off Road Racing online ranked lobbies.

The weekly seasonal event is open until midnight Wednesday, April 22, and takes about an hour to complete. While you’re at it, the Forzathon shop also has the Z32 300ZX available for 450 FP, one of the in game currencies won by completing weekly challenges. If you do have the A70 Supra, let us know! We will be doing more Forza related content during our collective quarantine.

Special shout to SCHMARIN1313 and FordFanRS for the perfect JNC inkan  and Safety Drive designs seen in thesee screenshots.

I’ve been waiting for the A70 to be included since the return of Toyota was announced. My only gripe is that since it’s an exclusive car, you have to win it, and it’ll be super rare, meaning I can only build a replica in the game of one of my four real-life A70’s. To win it, I built an Evo VIII to compete, since in 2005 I drove my own Evo VIII to a used car dealer in San Diego to purchase my 1991 Supra.

I just wish they’d stop making my family’s real life cars so hard to get. I lucked out on snagging my AE86, but wasn’t able to get my 70-year old mom’s Civic Type-R until it popped up in a wheel spin.

The Confederation of Australian Motorsport (CAMS) _banned_ the A70 Supra turbo, AW11 MR2 and Mk2 CRX from group E production racing because they were embarrassing locally made rubbish.
Stuff that’s been reclaimed by the Earth — Falcons and Commodores — so no great loss!

How do you do this championship? Im looking all over festival playlist and its not there.

  4. Cody says:

    I have the a70

At least the challenges don’t seem ridiculous. I was trying to get some car q few weeks ago, a car you can just buy in the store and the challenges were impossible. First off it was winter, second you had to drive a RWD car with tons of power, no traction control (which I usually don’t use except in snow) and the ai had to be on the highest level which would be fine but during these races they were definitely cheating. Off the line at the start I would watch as every car accelerated like it was AWD on dry tarmac with twice the power of my car.

I eventually said to hell with it and I’m ranked in the top 4% and have been in every main forza and horizon for years

    • Oh are you talking about the trial races? The pro-tip with that series is to get a car that is at it’s maximum performance point rating for the series and try to get into a lobby with someone who has a minimum performance point rating, the AI cars will then be matched to the slowest car on the field. The Trials always take a few tries for me to achieve.

I just got the A70! As soon as I saw it came out, I got my R32 and beat the championship needed to get that car in no time!

  7. Joel says:

I’ve got mine. Handling seems a little sharper than it was in Forza 3

  8. David says:

I got the A70 without even realizing how rare it is. I came back to Horizon 4 to see how things have progressed. Unfortunately, I still think it’s an empty shell of game that lacks depth. I’m happy I have the Supra but also bummed that I missed out on the 86.

  9. potato says:

it’s a shame in today’s age you not just have to chase around physical stuffs but also digital ones. once you miss it for 1 reason or the other you miss it for good.

Good way to keep player base big and active.

  10. Kyle Soler says:

Very silly to have cars like this exclusive, as you do alienate people who get the game at a later date or forget that it’s added. Wonder if there is a way to you know, hack the game to gain access to the vehicle since it would be in the files.

    At least I have FH3.
