New Retro Rims: Work Meister CR01

You may have noticed a snazzy new rim gracing the arrest-me red kenmeri in our Nos2Days coverage. In case you were wondering, that’s the new Work Meister CR01, exuding what the wheelmaker calls “Nostalgic Competition Racing Style.” Now that’s an awesome slogan if we’ve ever heard one.

The new 15-inch three-piece design consists of a cast center and forged rim, available in widths ranging from dinky 5-inch dinner plates to mega 12-inch barrels any zokusha would be proud to rock. You can download a PDF application guide to see what fits your ride.

We wish the words “Nostalgic Competition Racing Style” would appear somewhere on the wheel itself, like so many 80s JDM counterparts. Alas, although you can get the center, rim, or both in a variety of looks β€” anodized black or bronze, with either gloss or matte finishes, or just plain polished β€” excessive verbiage is not one of them.

We kinda dig this illustration of dual Civics sporting their duds. Let the avalanche of retro rims continue! For more information, visit Work Wheels USA.

Will you stop with the New wheel for old car postings!!! It’s hard enough debating the wat Rs-8 vs the Hyashi street vs the Te37v and now you have me contemplating these!!!! I’m gonna run out of money for my blow through turbo build and end up a wheel whore.

I was lucky enough to see a few sets of CR01s last month in Japan, in the flesh they are outstanding, the colour schemes rock and sizing to suit any car. my guess is these will out sell the current range of new retro wheels.
