So, made a pretty sick purchase today! $250 w/ title, original manual and less than 1500 miles! Bought it for my wife, but she's kinda scared of it... so looks like I have a 90mpg work commuter! (luckily I only work about a mile away, lol)

Anyone know the Washington laws on these? This thing hits around 30mph on flat ground, any turns or inclines and I drop to around 20-25. I can pretty much make it to and from work on side streets, but I have to get on highway 101 to cross a bridge both ways. The speed limit on 101 in town is 30mph, so I'd asume it's ok, but I am not sure since it is a highway, and I've heard you need to be atleast 80cc to be legal on highways.

you can always check out the state patrol for more info. I do not have my 2 wheelers in WA. I've owned three 1960's JNS (Japanese Nostalgic Scooter), a Fuji Rabbit, Mitsubishi Silver Pigeon and Honda Cub. of the three the Fuji was the smoothest, with the air suspension :tu:

rode it to work today, nice and smooth at about 25mph the whole way. It doesn't like full throttle, but if you ease it up to speed and hold at about half throttle, it stays pretty good at 25mph. Love this thing!!

It looks like the spree in wa state is classified as a moped. give it a read.

I think it has to be able to go 35 mph to be road legal. But I'm mean its washington who really cars.

Ordered my new tires! Stock size 2.50-10 nankang up front and 80/90-10 itr rear tire, should be like an inch and a half taller :) look like tiny street bike tires, lol. Also got a new drive belt and a carb rebuild coming. Hoping to have this thing braking 30mph, lol. This thing is the cheapest fun I've had in a long time :). Micro-sized tuning!

Very nice! $250 for that is nuts, great deal.

I bought a 1965 (I think) Honda Cub last night. Pictures forthcoming.

Here's my Ruckus:

I've been thinking a lot about getting a ruckus lately, but i 've always wanted one. Driving this spree around has gotten me pretty pumped :) . I just want something that can do 35mph reliably every day for about a 2mile round trip. What's done to yours?

Can the spree not pull off 35mph?

I've got the following mods on mine, it goes about 42-43mph, but with a little more tuning I should be able to eke out 46-47.

-KN Kikaku Variator
-Daytona Drive Belt
-6g roller weights (From Metropolitan)
-MRP Exhaust
-NCY low seat rail
-ATR x StandardFunctions extension
-Daytona 210mm rear shock (shortest/lowest available)
-Garmin 205x Navi
-Password JDM bars, stem, pegs, and anti-vibration bushings
-Tanax knockoff mirror

I hit almost 35 yesterday, and then the motor stalled :P. It seems to flood out if you ride it at full throttle for too long, and it doesnt like transitioning from full throttle to half either. I'm taking the carb apart later this week for a cleaning, and I've been running seafoam through it each tank full (had it less than a week and used 2 tanks, I love this thing, lol). Hoping the carb is just dirty, but I'm going to inspect vacuum lines and crap too, I really don't want to lean this thing out :P.

Do the pwjdm forks lower the front at all? You didn't need any fuel mods with the exhaust? I love love love your ruckus, definately going to be my next major purchase.

Not sure about the forks, but I don't think so. I'm not sure there's much you can do other than chop the stockers, but I'm not sure.

I need to handle that myself, as I have some reverse rake.

I also did a DIY intake, and I had to re-jet the carb, which took forever.

Most power is to be found through drivetrain (i.e. weights, variator, drive face shave, etc). Intake/Pipe won't give you any power, and you might even lose some.

I'll still have to run an exhaust, lol. Thanks for the advice. Might be selling my mx32 tomorrow, so just need to save a bit more.

I didn't know you had an MX32. Too bad you don't live here, I'd take it off your hands. I'd sell my x7 in a heartbeat if I could find one.

I'll be getting photos of my "new" Cub up here over the weekend. It's too much fun.

Honestly, rather than buying a Ruckus, you should swap a Ruckus engine into the Spree. It's ten million times cooler and it's been done enough times that you won't be in uncharted territory.

Head over to TotalRuckus and search around, you'll find lots of info. I've got the same handle on there, shoot me a PM if you register. There are a bunch of Spree owners there, both swapped and stock.

I love the spree, but it's my wifes bike, so I just kind of want to get it running right, new tires and belt and then just maintain it, she won't be commuting on it. I'll definately concider a ruckus swap for myself though. I'll pretty much be riding whatever I get every day it's not raining, so I want something reliable :D.
