Anyone have any older Japanese motorcycles?

I bought a largely restored 1960's Honda Cub last night and it's about the coolest thing I've ever seen.

Pictures forthcoming, but I figure I can't be the only one. Who's got what?

My 1964 Honda Dream 305. Haven't ever had the time to start on this one, my Dad bought it for $20 from somebody's sideyard in the '80s.

Such a cool lookin' little bike though.

WOW!

You need to restore that thing. Those are super cool.

Parts are readily available, and they're fairly simple AFAIK.

No, but as soon as my partner and I buy a house, SWMBO has given permission for a Honda CB project of some sort. Wire spoke wheels, race tank, round headlight, oooooh yeah.... :tu:

I've got a 1974 Honda TL 125 (also called a "BIALS"). In need of a total resto but it's all there. Used to ride one of the first SL 125s back then, a friend had the trials version (TL 125). Two very different machines!
Found this one in a mates shed, said I could have it if I fixed his computer. One afternoons work later and I've got another project

I have an early Suzuki T125, and my dad's got a completely original Kawasaki H1 500 Mach III. Best. Motorbike. Ever.

Took the Cub out for the first time last night.

Getting used to shifting, sometimes hard to tell whether you're in 2nd or 3rd. It's a lot of fun though, I think it might actually be a little quicker than my Ruckus.

Currently I don't have any, but I grew up around motorcycles, mostly Japanese (although the old man is into Maicos and Bultacos). Kawasakis and Yamahas mostly; dad had most of the big name Kawasaki sports bikes at some point, Z1-R, GPz900R, GPz1100, ZX-10, ZZR-1100R, ZX-7RR, ZX-9R etc up to the late 90s. Dad's got a KX125A at the moment, wrenches on a friend's RM400N, and is restoring a KX250A and a KX250A4 for friends. Had some oddballs along the way like GSX1100EFE, Katana, GT750 waterbottle, T125 Stinger, RDs and stuff like that.

I'd love to own a Z1-R or KZ1000 Mk.II personally.

Don't have any bike at the moment but during school days I rode a '74 Kawasaki KH100, a '79 Suzuki GP100 (both modded for speed :D ) and a standard '73 Suzuki T250 Model J (the one with kick starter on the LH side!)

I have a 1982 Honda CB450T. I will post a pic when I find out how to do it.

I've got a 1976 Suzuki GT125R waiting to be restored, and I'm driving a 1990 Honda CBR 600 F.

Have a few "projects". GT550 stroker in a 84' GS750 chassis and a T500 stroker going in a 96' GS500 chassis. My rider is a 90' FJ1200.

My first "car" was a 77 Honda CB550  I've also owned an 82 Yamaha550 Maxim with the 6speed (was told by an "expert" that this bike does not exist) an 82 Honda CB250 and an uber cool orange and black 76 Honda CB250 that was in excelent condition. I am so stupid to give these things up

I keep seeing cheap CB's on craigslist, but I have too many projects already. I need to sell my Ninja 250 and then I can maybe think about it.

The real dilemma is now that I own both the Ruckus and the Cub, do I really need TWO Honda 50's? So similar, but I can't bring myself to sell either one.

Would love to add a few to the list. I recently visited the Australian motorcycle museum and was pleasantly surprised to see a number of Japanese bikes on display, even a couple I've never seen or heard of!

Norton Rotaries are, IMO, the coolest bikes in the entire world.

I wish I could find a museum like that. Super cool.
