lol, you cant hear hx vtec lmao

A little news, THe top end is back on, and I'm almost back where I was a few months ago lol.

I've taken some time fof the lancer to deal with issues with my daily drivers. I had to do a injector o ring change on the terror van today, busted a injector clip while I was at it, but she is all good now.

I bought a new turbo also, well new used. I have a holset he351cw... U havent decided what it will go on, but..... I dont think it will be the lancer lol.

It;s coming together. I dove into the wiring tonight. Spliced in the switched powers from the ignition switch wiring. And I'm runnign a nice heavyg auge wire from the battery to the fusebox so I can add additional accesories.

I picked up a 1g monbtero fusebox and will be running a 30a fuse for the ecu power. Both run an start will go through the same fuse. I believe it should work fine plus give me the added safety of a fused relay instead of hard wired.

I'm also adding a 80a hard fuse at the abttery for the constant 12v going into the cab for the montero fuse box.

I also picked up a battery and a harness for the alternator.

The eonly thign left to do in the engine bay is install plug wires, a water pipe coupling for the hater corem vac lines and a downpipe as far as I can tell at this point.

I think I may have it running tomorrow. :tu:

Other things I wrapped up. Installed the clutch pedal plunger n bled the clutch,. Gas pedal was installedm ecu mounted, eci relay mounted, and heat shielf for the turbo installed.

Im debating if I want to try installing the 4 link sapporo axle I have o go get the firearrow axle from the jyard. Either way, good progress for such a long on work stretch,

drunk typing for the win. I should have some pics up tomorrow. The fuel pump wiring was a little more work than I thought.

I ended up using a long piece of pvc hose that I sued for my fuel injector cleaner rig to protect the wiring from sharp edges. I run it from the back of the seatbelt side panel all the way through the front seat rail hole so it is nice and protected. I also sringed it through the zipties that held up some other misc wiring which wa son the back ofthe rear seat x frame.

Ecu is mounted and tucked in behind the glove box as is the new fuse box. I'm real happy with the install. I should be test firing it in themorning as soon as I get the downpipe bolted on.

Well it runs. Pretty loud open downpipe. I have a lot of work left now. GNeed to put trans fluid in, saccelerator cable, bolt shifter on, bolt seats in. Bolt ecu back in with fuse box. Loop heater core line, install a fan, finish exhaust, and probably some other crap. Oh, I need to actually run a alternator harness still

As usual few little tid bits are starting to pop up. For some reason I had taken off the water outlet line on the turbo. The fuel pump blockoff plate is leaking so I need to suck the oil out of the spot n reseal it.I dont seem to be leaking any fuel at least. I let it warm up a bit today since I finally put water in it. I found my clutch needs more bleeding as well. I migh be able to take it on a test drive tomorrow.

Well, other than cleaning out half a years worth of crap in the car, I need to find the throttle cable. and wire up the pusher fan. Other than that, this car is ready to drive, well at last it's maiden drive.

Love the old school Oregon plate too :tu:

Gotta say I agree there and if the intercooler could be hidden somehow or at least matt blacked so it didn't detract from the cars appearance as much she'd be a 10/10 from me.

Great project, love the way old Mitsu's just seem to love playing pass the parcel with there engines :tu:

it shouldnt stick out so bad once the grill n lights are back on. I cant hide it anymore. It's literally up to the top of the upper bumper cover. And I have no other place to run pipes except for exactly where those pipes are coming off the intercooler.

Took it for a test drive today. Seems to drive fine, I hadnt wired up the fan so I didnt go far. It's gonna be pretty damn fast when I can start beating on it. It takes basically no gas to move the car or keep it going down the road which is nice.

I wired up the fan just a while ago, but im gonna let it cool down and retorque the head tomorrow.

I gave it a quick wash too.

Now if I could only figure out what I did with the screws for the other headlight bucket.

I need a surge tank, a water temp gauge, and more fans.

My alternator died, my fault, but it wasnt charging that goo to begin with, so eh, I accidently wired the exciter directorly to the positive on th battery. End of story, dead battery the next day and a alternator that would barely do 12.5v charge. Thats my hiold up right now. I either have to spend 100 bucks on a remanned or use my montero alternator which is a whoppin 50a. It should probably be enough for the old car2, but I may try and find a 96 millenia alternator. Apparently its a 110a bolt in.

I wired a honda shadow 500 puller fan to the car the other day, and I think I have enough airflow now, but I need to get the right coolant temp sensor in to confirm.

What does the plug look like on the alternator out of curiousity? Is it a divided 2 pin or a straight 4 pin or something different?

Thinking of other possible alternator options and if it's the same as a dsm/gvr4? I run a 85amp Subawho legacy alternator on the vr4, because my stock 90amp died on me.

I've been looking into getting a high output alternator from these guys, I've heard good things of them on the subaru forums
