I loved picking through this thread, and I'm especially glad someone has worked out a power steering conversion for this model, as I'm going to need one for my own project.
I have a question though...
Why oh why did you paint the bumpers and chrome black, then stick a shiny intercooler out the front???
Other than that, it's friggin awesome!!! I do actually like the black trim, and that stripe goes sooooooo well on that body. I've been thinking of stealing it, but don't worry... I won't be copying your stylin.
Anyways, sweet ride, and more vids and more skids!
Thank you very much for appreciating my car.
74 MarkII never came with skinny bumpers to begin with…
Bumpers you see on here are from a sedan and in order for them to fit my
car meant ton of cutting and body work which meant chroming them was
out of question, I tried painting them in various shade of silver but it never
looked good enough to me…
(I am still looking for original bumpers from 1973 MarkII hardtop).
All the trim pieces you see on there were in very sad shape and they too have lots of body work on them therefore had to paint them black because none of the silver was working for me.
I am really not happy with where intercooler sits right now but that’ll all change at later stage because Its an on going project.
In a perfect world what I would have liked for this car is to retain all the chrome finishes and have the intercooler tucked away behind the grille because thats where it belongs
