in dec '09 i finally found (had money to spend and space) my '71 240z. since then i have grinded away rust on the floors, applied some por15, started welding up replacement pieces for the holes in the floor, and managed to find time to install weber dcoe 40s, msd 6al, and 280zx n/a dizzy. my friend took a short vid of the webers today with his phone. i'll post some pics of the body work later. stay tuned for when i have $/time haha

here are some pics of the dizzy/msd/weber install.

haha i know i know

my SUs were leaking like crazy everywhere and i already had the triples, so to drive the car "safely" i put them on first. i haven't gotten my header/exhaust yet so those will be going on soon.

some stuff ive gotten in the last few weeks..

nice maintenance stuff like water pump, heater hoses, clutch master/slave cylinder..and in-line fuel psi/RPM gauges. my tach never worked to begin with, and its not worth the trouble modding it to see if it will work with the MSD. going to get a matching speedo sometime, but these will be replacing the stock gauges in dash.

had some more time this week to work on the Z..filled up the holes on both door from the US spec mirrors as well as fixed a crack in my driver door. lots of learning with the welder on such thin metal and filling the holes was pretty fun!

in all it was a fun two days. learned a lot from my buddy Norcal510, and he was pretty patient with me welding and grinding lol.

just drilled to fit the stud from the bottom of the mirrors through. very simple installation. it was interesting i was actually able to find "LHD" mirror placement measurements, most likely ones that someone made from switching the RHD ones.

ahh haven't had time to work on the Z in a while. I did make some progress with the rust...to find more rust...and realize that im going to have to cut out a lot more out than previously planned on the passenger side. since work has been 10-11 hour days i've had no motivation to be in the garage lately lol. However I have a week off soon, so there will be some cool updates shortly. Got some more goodies from MSA courtesy of my fiance as a surprise....aka air dam, bre spoiler, and zg flares whoo hoo! Hopefully all repair to reverse the damage done by battery acid over the years will be done that week as well.
