Alright pics are up. news isnt great, but it's not bad either.

First fof, the 32b rwd cam bolt is a m8 vs the m10 used for a 37
Image

The dowl on the 32b is smaller diameter than the 37, so drilling of the dowl hole is requred to use the 32b cam gear on the 37
Image

The reason we need to use a 32b cam gear on the 37 head. Notice left the 32b cam gear teeth are a larger size than the 37. Diameter wise, the gears are the same. It might be possible to use a 37 lower crank gear, but I dont know if the physical dimensions of the 37 block are the same as a 32b or crank snout etc..
Image

Here is a 32b fwd turbo manifo9ld on top vs the old 32b rwd carb manifold on the bottom. Notice the water port difference. This is bad news for the carb guys wanting to run a stock rwd manifold on a 37 head. or even a fwd 32b head.
Image

Here is the rwd 32b manifold mounted on the 37 head. Notice the gap near the water temp sebnsor. This is why this wont just work. A easy fix would be a small adapter plate that is slightly larger and covers the gap.
Image

top view of the 2 heads. I havenmt pulled cams off and checked cam diameter to see if they are interchanceable yet, or rocker shaft od. Notice the 37 has roller rockers with hydraulic lifters. I like the rollers, I dont care for the hydraulic lifters though.
Image

Exhaust manifold side rwd 32b on top. Everything is identical except for the extra casting on the front of the 37 and the larger ports that the 37 has.

Image

Here is the bottom view. Notice the 37 has kidney shaped chambers? The 37 pistons are kidney shaped and go quite a bit up into the chamber on a 37 fwd engine. The rwd32b is the typical hemi. It looks like dropping a 37 on a rwd 32b bottom end will result in low compression.
Image

Intake port side o the heads. Notice the smaller front water jacket on the 32b head and the much larger jacket on the 37. Again that is the issue with using the carbed manifold on the 37 head. Also notice there is a second water jacket on the back of the hea don the 37. This isnt that ibg of a issue and could be solved with a block off plate with a pipe threaded ito it for the heater core. The small water outlet for the carb would also need to be either tapped or blocked off.
Image

Now some good news. The head bolts right on. The fwd turbo 32b intake iwll work even with the rear water neck. Getting this to work was as easy as flipping the waterneck 180 and bolting it on. It should also clear the tb with no problem. This is a pic of the 37 head with a fwd 32b turbo intake manifold which shares the same ports as a mpi 37, and the fwd turbo 32b turbo exhaust manifold.

up.

just want to ask. did the 4g37 head originally have the turbo manifold? do they not come with the carb manifold that fits exactly to the water port of the g37 head?

im currently on the look for a 4g37 carb intake manifold that fits the water port. mine currently have a 4g32 manifold with the adaptor plate blocking the extra space in the water port...

The 4G37 never came out factory turbo, but the MK1 and MK2 Mirage came with the 4G32 ECI Turbo engine which has a similar TBI setup as early Starion/Cordia turbo.

There is no carb RWD 4G37, but there are carb FWD 4G37 motors which would have the manifold to suit to water outlets of the 4G37 head. The FWD manifold isn't ramped though so the carb will sit on the same lean as the motor as opposed to a proper RWD manifold.

thanks man.

i guess i'll stick with my g32 carb manifold with the adaptor plate for now.
and have a g37 manifold fabricated in the future.

im willing to bet if theymade a carbed fwd intake for the g32b it will have the same port configuration as a 4g37.

up.

if I put on a g32 head on my g37 block. do i need to change timing belts?

also , im thinking doing this would result to a high compression, does it?

thanks!

you wouldnt want to put a g32b head on a 37, the flow of the 37 head is much greater.
If you did for some reason do that you would need the 80s g32b head and then install the g37 cam gear.

3 year bump....

I've always wondered about a RWD 4G32T, since I blew up my 4G67 today this could be my next swap. I'm sure the 4G32T from the early 80's Turbo Dodge Colts will fit into a 1st generation Mighty Max with any modifications. Looking picture of a 4G32T the problem I see is the turbo hitting the firewall.

If anyone has the wiring harness for 4G32T please pm.

Pics are all dead.
I have an ECI 4G63BT from a Starion, planning to go DOHC with it soon.

Of course their dead, it's a 3yr old thread. Doubt the g32b turbo would hit the firewall, just not a lot of room to work with for the downpipe.
