They might be rare for you guys in the states, but Australia's full of them :/
They're called a Magna over here, either carb or multi-point EFI G54B.

Anywho, the white and red cars are looking good, not too sure about the red ones bonnet/hood though :P

Yes, the Australiens are lucky - not only that a lot of these Magnas have survived up to now, but they also had a Station Wagon of it. Well, I think many European people missed such version after the A120 and A160 Galants were also avaiable as Station Wagon.

@ Tomica83

Keep on the work with these great cars. The Galant 2.4 EXE was the first Mitsubishi they bought. I was absolutly fantastic.

Wow, that is a cool looking goon. Thanks for the pic. :)

I wonder if they ever had an AWD or Turbo version of those wagons.

No AWD, but the first of the FWD Galant GT's came with a SOHC 4G63T

they never were badged as a Galant GT for the FWD models anywhere in the world.

also the Australian first gen Magna isn't the same car as the 5th gen Galant, it is based on the Galant but the chassis is widened a few inches to fit the 4G54 engine easily and to increase the interior room as Australia didn't have the tax brackets which were dependent on the vehicle width like the Japanese did.

none of the 5th gen Galants came AWD but there were plenty of turbo variants sold in Japan, Europe, New Zealand and I'm sure a few other markets as well. In Japan some of them had the Cyclone DASH 3x2V engine. The chassis of the 5th gen Galant went on to be the basis for the 6th gen Galant and many components are the same or interchangeable - if you really wanted to make it AWD you could swap over the rear floorpan and driveshaft tunnel from a VR-4 Galant.
