looks so clean and nice and original. certainly has the wow factor that modern cars don't have.

Oh very nice!

Please don't follow the usual classic Mazda trend in Australia of slapping big 18" modern race rims on it and becoming a power-hungry drag nut! :)

i know i have the wrong grille badge on it for an aussie delivered Rx4 but im still looking for a rotary engine grille badge which are very hard to come by. if they are for sale they usually cost an arm and a leg.

I think it goes just fine. Originality doesn't mean 100% restored to original :tu:

So old school RX parts in Australia cost an arm and a leg? I was checking up prices on brake rotors and they're about $285 USD  and that's just for a pair.

it quite a nice daily driver although i'll need to change the wheel bearings and replace the shocks at the front as theyre getting a bit saggy.

That's a great looking car you have.
Looks pretty straight. Nice to see some Aussie stockers.

bit of an update:

Ended up getting a new windscreen fitted last week to replace the one with large cracks (thanks shannons insurance, would have cost me $550 just for the window alone) and it took them a couple of goes to get the front window stainless trim to stick down again. Mazda wanted $6AUS for each clip when 24 are needed pfffffttt (i tracked some down for 6 cents each through a glass specialist). Mazda are fucking jokes when it comes to prices.
anyways the new window still has the antenna wires in it and plugged into the back of the 8 track and AM radio which is sweet.

I also got some new exhaust hangers from Mazda (had to be specially made to order aparently, took months to get in) as the rubber ones holding the REAPS decided not to play any longer. $30each for the large round rubber ring hangers and $20 for the set of other ones. I guess they saw me coming.....

Nice pic, it looks deceivingly like a Renesis motor in there, so much so that I was going to ask what the performance was like.
Luckily i spotted the snorkel of the standard carbie set up...LOL
