I just picked up the new Super Street. It has a ton of nostalgic material in it. They interview several owners of nostalgics including PJ Bonifacio. They also have a sweet parts guide for lots of nostalgics.

Hey, they might be late to the party, but go out and buy it! If this issue outsells all the rest of their issues, they'll get the idea. 8)

Show your support for English-language JNC content. :tu:

I still read Super Street because it makes me feel like the best parts of high-school: riceboyism/youthful exuberance. I have a set of their valve caps still somewhere, got 'em the day I graduated, heh.

Heh. Sometimes the models are really ugly, but this month's birds are okay.

They're still in business? Haven't seen that one in years.

And from how well they hide their current issue information on their website, it's not surprising that people think they are long gone.

I didn't even see the JNC content until I got this home, I just picked it up because I'm addicted to hot pink Gram Lights. :tu:

They are starting to get better. I remember back when, they were the only import mag you could get your hands on (where I grew up anyway) The last few years they seem to be all about sponsored, and corporate backed cars, and the grassroots beginings are long gone :( Let's face it, most of us aren't going to be able to afford bling like that, and truthfully it just makes me mad looking at cars that are unrealistic in real world situations. (that's why I stopped reading Modified Mag) Nowaday's I only pick up Super Street to see if they have anything worthy in their old skool section!

Maybe a better way to say it is:
"When I buy a car magazine, I buy it for the cars, if I want to see necked wimen, I move down the magazine rack and there are magazines that specialize in that kind of thing."

And noticing the tendency for the car models in the American magazines to originate in the porn industry, I'd point out that you will get a much better view of the car models and their equipment on the opposite side of the bookstore, behind the curtain, in the adult movie section.
Meanwhile, I'd like to get a good view of the car for the six plus dollars they charge for a car magazine, maybe they could spend a little ink on that and stop trying to be Hustler.

Thats pretty much the only reason why I buy it anymore. This issue does seem to have alot more to offer for the likes of us.

Same here, but they have been putting more old skool cars the past few months. A couple of hakos and rx3. I think they're getting the right idea.

I think it's an attempt, on their part, to reconnect with their roots and recapture what made the rag so popular in the first place. A lot of everyday enthusiasts are building wicked cool street cars out of JNCs, and Super Street is right there with the coverage.
