Alright pics are up. news isnt great, but it's not bad either.
First fof, the 32b rwd cam bolt is a m8 vs the m10 used for a 37
The dowl on the 32b is smaller diameter than the 37, so drilling of the dowl hole is requred to use the 32b cam gear on the 37
The reason we need to use a 32b cam gear on the 37 head. Notice left the 32b cam gear teeth are a larger size than the 37. Diameter wise, the gears are the same. It might be possible to use a 37 lower crank gear, but I dont know if the physical dimensions of the 37 block are the same as a 32b or crank snout etc..
Here is a 32b fwd turbo manifo9ld on top vs the old 32b rwd carb manifold on the bottom. Notice the water port difference. This is bad news for the carb guys wanting to run a stock rwd manifold on a 37 head. or even a fwd 32b head.
Here is the rwd 32b manifold mounted on the 37 head. Notice the gap near the water temp sebnsor. This is why this wont just work. A easy fix would be a small adapter plate that is slightly larger and covers the gap.
top view of the 2 heads. I havenmt pulled cams off and checked cam diameter to see if they are interchanceable yet, or rocker shaft od. Notice the 37 has roller rockers with hydraulic lifters. I like the rollers, I dont care for the hydraulic lifters though.
Exhaust manifold side rwd 32b on top. Everything is identical except for the extra casting on the front of the 37 and the larger ports that the 37 has.
Here is the bottom view. Notice the 37 has kidney shaped chambers? The 37 pistons are kidney shaped and go quite a bit up into the chamber on a 37 fwd engine. The rwd32b is the typical hemi. It looks like dropping a 37 on a rwd 32b bottom end will result in low compression.
Intake port side o the heads. Notice the smaller front water jacket on the 32b head and the much larger jacket on the 37. Again that is the issue with using the carbed manifold on the 37 head. Also notice there is a second water jacket on the back of the hea don the 37. This isnt that ibg of a issue and could be solved with a block off plate with a pipe threaded ito it for the heater core. The small water outlet for the carb would also need to be either tapped or blocked off.
Now some good news. The head bolts right on. The fwd turbo 32b intake iwll work even with the rear water neck. Getting this to work was as easy as flipping the waterneck 180 and bolting it on. It should also clear the tb with no problem. This is a pic of the 37 head with a fwd 32b turbo intake manifold which shares the same ports as a mpi 37, and the fwd turbo 32b turbo exhaust manifold.
