A picture taken by my friend's girlfriend. I will take more pics as time permits.
1980 Cressida with the 4ME engine. As far as plans for the car, just gonna address the suspension first and wheels. My wife likes the car so much that she said that she will pay for the body work and respray :tu:  and my pops saw it and said that he will chip in to do the interior work :tu: :tu: .

Question as far as suspension goes, ive heard and read that Corolla pieces will fit this car. What can I use from the Corolla? [/img]

Congrats bro!! I have a set up for you to do a coilover set up. I bought it thinking that I could use it with the airbag system. But it turns out that we can't use both. Brand new shorter struts in box and coilovers for you drop the car.

PM me if you are interested!

Awesome car!!

corolla pieces will not fit this car..if i remember correctly, your going to want to look for 85-87 supra suspension.

take the whole rearend off an 85-87 supra so you can have disk brakes in the rear. as for the front end, it already is the same.

while your at it, take the 5mge out of the newer cressidas or even better take the 7mge/7mgte out of the 88-91 supras.

Wouldn't a Supra have IRS rear suspension? :?

This year Cressida has a solid axle, not IRS.

He probably meant a MkI Supra (1979-81) rear axle.

Thanks all, I just want to make sure I do it right the first time and not cut corners.

But if numbers aka 12345 has a setup for me specifically for this car, I will buy it.

But I do want to upgrade the cars driving feel as it feels alittle sloppy right now, was thinking of urethane bushings. Gonna email a few people (Prothane or Energy Suspension) if they have an application for this car.

PS> wish there was a compendium of things for this model year Cressida :)

Is the Cressidas rear suspension set up 4 parallel links and a panhard bar?

And the fuel line that has a leak that I wrapped with teflon tape and electrical tape. I hope to find a replacement for it soon.

Wow, that's in really great shape Vince. Should made the repaint a breeze. I'll give you a call tomorrow about the struts/coil-over setup.

Here is a great Tacoma resource

http://williamshosesupplies.com/

They can re-make any hose you got, from what I remember the prices where reasonable. And they can make them while you wait.

Did some research and found a couple companies that still carries Cressida bushings.

Going to place my order as soon as I get my hands on Alan's coilover set.

So here are the part numbers for the other 1978-1980 Cressida owners that wish to upgrade poly bushings.

Energy Suspension
Quote:
WE DO HAVE FRONT CONTROL ARM SET 8.3101 AND THE SWAY BAR IS DONE WITH THE UNIVERSAL SECTION

Whiteline
Quote:
We have the following in stock at this time and I have included the prices:

W51665 - $32.54

W21169 - $20.83

W61182 - $84.02

We do not have the following parts in stock, ETA would be 6 – 8 weeks, I have included the prices for these:

W11208 - $10.65

W21047 - $15.62

W31062 - $12.99

W21172 - $16.34

T3 5link setup
Quote:
Out back, I believe the car uses a straight axle and a 5 link kit, right? 4 parallel links and a panhard bar.

If that is the case, I can provide a adjustable performance 5 link kit for $460

Ill be getting my suspension setup figured out first then the engine is gonna get a once over same with the tranny. Then i will tackle the cosmetic stuff.

Let's get our Cressidas on the road :) :tu:
