Hello everybody,

This is my first post on the forum, though checking it out for quite a while. My name is Stephan and I'm from the Netherlands and I thought it would be nice to share my restoration pics with you all (will follow in post 2).

As the title says, I'm restoring a Civic 1200 for more than 2 years now. My girlfriend and I own the car for about 4 years. What began as here and there adding some accessories has turned out in a full obsession in the most positive way. It's part of every day's life now and since the project is almost finished, it's kinda scary in a way too!! Is there life after this..probably

Some specs: 2nd gen. Civic 5 speed, RS Keihin dual carbs, RS inlet manifold, RS exhaust manifold, King lowering springs, Venolia high comp. pistons, engine fully overhauled (incl. head and gearbox) , sporty seats, almost every accessory, Panasport (13x6) alloys, Pertronix ignition (coil, ignitor, wires), Mugen cam (goes in later), etc., etc...

Enjoy and feel free to post comments :D

Cheers, Stephan

Btw, big fan of the JNC magazines and forum :tu:

what size wheel is that? panasport?

Thanks everybody! :D

Wheels are Panasport 13x6 with Falken tires (185/60). They looked like this when I got 'em from the US and went for matte black powder coat.

The dent was caused by a crappy jack. When the engine got in, the car was way heavier than before and when I lifted the car up, the jack got in a little hole in the floor with one wheel and the car fell on the jack. It's gonna be fixed as soon as it's road legal.

Thanks and you got that right!! This summer we're planning to drive it to Italy, so test driving should be within a couple of weeks. Will work!

All the rare accessories are gathered over the last 4 years. Lot's of eBay-ing and Marktplaats-checking (Dutch version of Craigslist).
Some parts are from nearby in the Netherlands and Belgium. Cmsnl.com played a big part in the process. From these guys I bought nearly every OEM nut and bolt that is somehow in sight (or not at all, it's a disease) and also some rarities, like the grille emblem, striping (the only one that was left and which was used as the template for all the other striping you're seeing lately on other Civics, so pretty cool), and door panels...all cost me a fortune, but what the hack!
A lot is from the US, Canada, Australia, UK (thank you 1stgencivic.com folks ) and next week I'll receive my original (and NOS!) RS dash emblem from Japan 8). So, all in all a car based on the world wide web :D

the www is always a good help for restorations, especially when its a japanese make. back then, i doubt we could tell the japanese what we wanted on the phone

right now, u could just scan and attach that page with the part circled, to the supplier or just take a photo of the part and its all done.

way simpler in restoring car nowadays than before
