Behold, my 1973 Corona MkII!

Okay... so... Several months ago I was searching for a MkII wagon, but found a MkII sedan with appx 45k on it down in LA. I couldn't pass it up. I was planning on being in Anaheim at the end of December, so we planned on meeting then. Unfortunately he couldn't make it then, but we rescheduled for early February when he said he'd be in Portland. So, two days ago was that day. TE37Jake and I drove down and picked it up... then drove to Woodinville, then back to Seattle to drop it off at my place, then I had to take him back to Tacoma. It was a 480 mile day (give or take), 10AM to Midnight.

My goal was to get something that didn't NEED any work, but that I could also make small improvements to as time went on. With only about 45k on the odometer, and the original owner having sold it in 2008, it's in great shape.

I hope to attack one little area at a time and clean up individual parts

Took off the front and rear bumper bumpers today. Front took some significant cutting and grinding. Finished it off nicely by chamfering all the work and topping with a nice coat of black on the mounts.

I'll pick up some of those chrome plugs to cover the resulting holes.

Question, also... The USDM front marker lights are quite bulky compared to the JDM (euro?) lights. If I were to find a set of front lights, would I be able to bolt them in, or is the front valance area different as well? I really hope I can figure this one out. Thanks!

This is an excellent looking car, and seems like a good running one at that.

Thanks for the kind words!

Oracles: I bought it from a private seller who bought it from a dealer in '08. The original owner donated it early that year, apparently.

Do you still have the 70Crown? Or is that someone else, the Corona is sitting in the same yard as the crown was, with the same old black dump truck in the background. :)

Thanks! I'm going to try to look at a 75MK2 pretty soon that looks like yours, same color. Only it has the ugly picnic table bumpers :? Does the Crown still run? Iheard it broke down :(

Did you end up having to shell out 250 bones for a fuel pump?

I was checking out that car on my computer while I was waiting for him to pick me up on the way to Portland. Its amazing to me how far a proper stance and wheels can go in transforming a ride.

HongKongPhooey, I'd really like to copy your wheel choice. At this point I can find nothing that looks better. If I can't find anything that suits it in 2 months, would you mind?

Also, what springs did you use/modify to lower the car?

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! I wouldn't mind at all if you used the same rims.

They're konig b.bombs bought from technotoytuning.

I Replied to your pm about the springs.
