I had a chance last summer to go to the family day at the Mitsubishi factory in Okazaki, Aichi, Japan.

I am a Toyota guy, but there were some really historic cars there that I thought I should share.
(If anyone has or knows of similar Toyota shots, I would appreciate a heads up)

What follows is a sample.

And yes, they were driving all of them around.

I have uploaded most of them to Flickr, mostly because that is easiest.

If someone needs an original (full resolution), please let me know.

Whoops:

or here:

(Files only)

The proper (English) name for "factory" as I referred to it is:
The Passenger Car Engineering Center

Here it is:

Looks like it is open to the public
:)

Wow, that is awesome that you got to go to that. I'm going to post your links on the Starion forums, they'll appreciate these too.

Sorry, I don't have any pictures of under the hood.

Oh, the photos on Flickr are all of the pics from that day.
Most are from my camera, some are from my friend's camera.

Thanks so much! These are the best pics of a Mitsubishi Minica Skipper I've ever seen! :D

Allright,

I am putting full res versions of the pics up temporarily.
This is easier than responding individually.
The pics will be up for about 2 weeks

Anyone is welcome to the pics, of course.

In case anyone wants to use them on Wikipedia, I ceritfy that I am the owner of all the pics that have the IMG prefix in the filename, and the photos are free to anyone to use for non-commercial purposes.

These pics will not remain up, and some of them are a little large, so please don't hotlink to them.

I uploaded some (10) of the videos I took:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBrlj7HHFA8

It was really cool to see the cars driving around, but a little frustrating, because there were no high-power launches.

Click on my username to see the other videos.

(There are also a couple of videos there from another user here)

Thank you very much for the pictures of these fantastic cars.

It is fine to see that Mitsubishi has some of his historic models kept in driveale condition. Very nice pictures. I love the Starion 4wd...

I'm really missing the concept cars especially the HSR-I and HSR-II. Most of them were driveable, too.

If someone misses some rallye cars (Evo), just take a trip to Great Britain and have a meeting with Andrew Cowhan. He has a remarkable private collection. Sorry, I have only these German article with some small pictures:

Kind regards, Tim

oops didn't see you uploaded vids. yep, a bit frustrating as the cars are being babied like museum pieces :? :)
contrast to nissan days where the historic race cars punch it in an enclosed parking lot
not to mention the nismo festival ...
