I have only just discovered this thread. I am on the road every day and love spotting old J-Tin. Now I know there is somewhere I can post my sightings :tu:

I spotted this neat '82 Civic a few months ago. Same model and colour as our family had, and what I learnt to drive in. Ahh, sweet memories

Now for my sighting of the week. I spotted this in a carpark at a block of flats. It was only after I had taken the pic I realised it has been de-registered. Sad to say that if this car sits around for too long it will be reported as an abandoned vehicle and likely to wind up at the crushers.

Sorry about a couple of the pic's being grainy, I use the camera in my mobile phone and it drops picture quality when I use the zoom function.

Regards
Dave

There is a way it can be saved dude.

Once the council puts the abandoned vehicle sticker on it, contact them. After a bit of paperwork they basically put you in contact with the trucky picking it up [technically the truck driver "owns" the vehicle]. For a small "fee" [ie whatever agreement you two can come up with, a mate got a VB SL\E for a slab of beer LOL just depends on the trucky on the day] he will deliver the car and all paperwork to your house, thus making you the knew owner.

Thanks for the correction. I thought I was wrong on the model code.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm in the area with work each day so will see what happens. I'm wondering if it is also worth leaving a short note under the windscreen wiper or even finding out if the flats have a caretaker on site.

Regards
Dave

This photo needs an explanation. :P

Did someone abandon this truck in the middle of the road? Was it rear-ended by that other car behind it? Very confusing...

Lol, I wondered if anyone would notice. It's actually a parking lot, and this is parked right near one of the entrances. I assume it ran out of fuel and he couldn't quite roll it into the parking spot.

Interesting windows in the C-pillars there. Surely it didn't come that way?
