Hi everyone and Happy New Year!
I am newbie to the Toyota circles, but have a few old V-dubs and Mercs in my garage. Got my first non german car, a 1975 TA12 Carina GT. Four doors and factory 2T-GR DOHC engine. All original and unmolested. Has done 85 000km. I got the car as a present from my cousin in Japan and was told that there was only around 50 first generation four door GT Carina's made for JDM. Can't find much information from the net. Any information is greatly appreciated as I am new to the Toyota scene...

Many thanks

Jaso

Car is sure great, but what do you mean by headlamp swap, those are original. Or almost, outer looks like halogen units but inner are stock sealed beams unit.

That front end belongs to third facelift of TA12 carina or more specific all *A1* series after that. All HT models had it from the beginning 7208 -> But sedans got it later 74 something when that sedan model game, which is in bullits post.
That brown HT is TA17 -74.
In Usa were only first and second facelift -72 and -73 carinas, so that front end is not familiar in there.

We had all TA12 and TA14 body models in Europe. 2D and 4D. Some countries in Europe had ST models also. Mainly std models thou.
