Hi guys
After browsing the forums for some months I've decided to post some photos of my old school J-TIN up.It's great to see a site dedicated to a passion of mine and as you can see my cars are not make specific.
My first car was a Datsun 510 with webers followed by a 610 then a Celica RA28 with 18RG then a Celica TA61 GT.The Corolla I built about 12 years ago and bought the FTO 7 years ago and just finished the rebuild last year. The 610 has only done 43000 km and I bought it 12 months ago.The Crown I used to see and admire regularly on the street about 10 years ago so when the opportunity came to purchase 4 months ago I didnt hesitate.Other current family drive cars are a 1990 Lexus LS400,1984 Range Rover Classic and also have an FJ holden in bits in the shed.

The dent in the front guard of the Corolla wouldn't be Brenton's fault would it???

Lets just say, it's always the navigators side guard that needs attention.
And yes Brenton was steering, but not his fault
punched out guards happen sometimes, must get new alignment guy :roll

Thanks
As far as i've been able to work out the FTO was imported into West Oz in the late ninties privately, and has passed through three other owners before myself.I believe the MR twincam was already in the car when it arrived.I have tried to track down through Mitsi what engine was originally fitted , with no luck. Everything looked factory fitted including wiring , engine & trans mounts.Maybe it was fitted as an option?Who no's.
Any help would be appreciated.
As far as when we got the car it needed a paint job ,so we pulled the motor & trans to rebuild and one thing led to another & 5 years later it got back on the road.

@jnc'rs...if you don't already know, the galant FTO is sport coupe variant of the mitsubishi galant (the closest model sold in america would be the dodge colt)

Yes the Crown is an auto & drives sweet

Image

The Corolla is a gem. My brother and I built it from scratch over a 4 year period Then shared drives for several years. In 2003 a mate wanted to navigate for the year so I drove & we went out & won the state 2wd & under 2 litre championship. I've never DNFed in the car ever. If you build & prepare em right & have a great crew , she all falls into place. Oh and don't let the red mist make you part of the scenery!!!

Awesome line up, the FTO especially!

From what I know....

GSI, GSII, GSIII (A61)
1971 had the 1400cc (4g41) Neptune engine, GSIII used the twin carb engine.

SL(automatic), GL and EL? (A62)
1972

GS5, GSR1600 (A63)
1973 Mitsu switched to the larger 1600cc Saturn, which was also had twin carbs.
GSR1600 was sohc, it just had a dress up kit on it
flares, color coded bumpers and the interior had a few changes.

Love your FTO. That would be a great car to have especially with that twin cam motor. The FTO GSR's and the GTO's are my 2 favourite Mitsubishi's :tu: .

Welcome. The FTO has to be my favorite. Love your collection. The V8 swap is super clean too.
