ive been staying at my grandmas house since christmas since shes out of town and the datto got to live in the garage for a while

and today i was heading back to grandmas after getting some food and i see somthing from the side of the road i pull in the driveway and i couldnt beleve my eyes it was a 74 610 wagon!!! i found another 610 localy i talked to the old guy who owns it for a few minutes he got it from a tow yard when the previous owner got a dui i may go back and ask him if hes willing to part with it so i can build it so i have a second car and possibly somthing to let my girlfriend drive it needs some sanding and some body work but nothing ii couldnt handle anyway here are some pics

well i have a small update still havent gotten the rims done yet dont have the cash atm but i did make an awsome score

my dad got a job at the shop he works at saying that the customer had a rebuilt alternator installed and it didnt work then another tech said it was the alt so it was replaced with a brand new one well it turns out that the fusable link was bad so my dad fixed that and now was left with a brand new alternator in the van and a freashly rebuilt one in a box that was destined for the garbage it made its way home for the datto :D

105 amp gm alt out of a chevy astro van!

gonna have to get creative with the mounts and there will be a full right up but 105 amps is nothin to shake a stick at

If you search at forums.hybridz.org there are a bunch of threads about mounting GM alternators to the L-series motors. There is also a bunch of help with wiring for the different GM alternators.

Its not that hard, you just have to modify the solid mount that mounts to the block by shortening it and drilling through it and getting a long enough bolt to go all the way through it and the alternator. You can probably retain the stock adjustable top mount. This of course depends entirely on the exact alternator you have and its particular mounting ears.

I have a GM 10Si 105amp alternator mounted to my L28ET with a custom mount by Z Car Creations thats not made anymore.
