Image

and a over all shot of the car it looks like i raised it a little but in reality the supention needs to be settled cause i picked the car up again

Image

im working on a deal for a header locally
Image

now a question with the weber adapter i have the throttle linkage will bind since it came off a truck the carb is already set up for a cable what is a good vehicle to pull a cable setup from? should i take everything pedal and all? im thinking of pulling it from a 620 or a 521 would this work?

620 would probably be the easiest, but you can pull the cable/pedal from almost any Nissan and it will work. I've used S10 200SX, S110 200SX, HL-A10, Z31 300ZX, 620, and 720...

S110 200SX is ideal but it's a loooong cable. Good for the KA swap.

620 should have the most appropriate length cable. :tu:

If it's ceramic-coated, $300 isn't really out of line. Mind you it's no "bargain", but not terrible.

Hell the Kirk headers from Nismo were $275, and they were just chrome not ceramic. But they were 4-2-1.

yeah but when i can get the same header brand new minus the coating for $170 shipped to my door i would rather go that way i am on a tight budget with this build

...I was really hoping you were going to fill in the sidemarkers, and use the other grille... :(

...And still hope you indeed are :)

Looks great though in any case, jealousy.

damn ive been slacking on this thread

well i drove the car down to montery california (2.75 hour drive) and when i get there there is no coolent in it  my "nos" overflow bottle couldnt take the heat so it melted and when the radiator overflowed it just dumped out onto the pavement well i babied it home stopping every half hour or so to make sure it was full then went to the junk yard and found a overflow bottle out of a 280zx that fit in the stock windsheild washer bottle mounting bracket
Image
Image

then after driving it with the weber header and freeflowing exhaust the timing chain started showing its age and since it has needed a head gasket for a while i went to work
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

in the next 2 shots you can see why i didnt do rings and bearings the
original hone marks are still there and there was no ring groove the lower end of this block is in great shape why fix it if it isnt broke?

Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

the old parts

Image
Image

topped off with a polished DATSUN valve cover
Image
Image
Image

i winterized the rust in the back window its only temporary till body work starts

Image

and a cool pic i took while playing with my phone
Image

while i was reasembling the overflow nipple broke on my mr2 inline filler so i took some marine apoxy and a bit of brakeline problem soved
Image

whew thats my update she pulls hard now and when its wet its very difficult to keep the rear tires planted :D

well today i started bodywork O_O its really not that hard just time consuming as some may remember when i got the car the early 73 left fender was damaged as seen here

Image

and you can kind of see it here
Image

now i spent about an hour with a hammer and a few dollies and got it to this point
Image
Image

its not done but its almost ready for filler the way it is now a little more time with the hammer and dolly and it will be good as new
