They are not too bad. I took them off my lancer since the engine blew something the other day. The offset isnt very good but it looks decent. The color is actually bronze, and a crappy paint job at that.

I need to buy some coil over sleaves and make some coilovers for the front and then figure out what to do with the rear.

Well, I was having some fun with friends the other day and did a 1 2 3 gear burnout and the car started idling rough and blowing some smoke out the valve cover vent, no exhaust smoke though. We pulled the hea off later that night and didnt see anything wrong. Tossed it back on so I could get home. I pulled the engine out last night as quite a few people convinced it was rings even though I had a gut feeling it was. Fresh engine with 1200 or so miles and only 12lbs of boost isnt enough to shaffter a ring or ringland.

Anyways, got the engine out and pulled it apart. pulled the pistons out, everything was f;n cherry. I was happy I was right, but it looks like I need to find a new head. The crack in it may have went all the way through or a valve seal blew out and I may have floated a valve.

Since I had the engine out I cut off a flywheel bolt that had been rounded off, and will buy a 11lbs fidanza flywheel and 6 puck clutch as my old clutch was slipping pretty good. The difference from the stock 35lbs flywheel and a fidanza is huge.

I might see about importing a magna head from australia. They flow more than a heavily ported head that we got here and dont have the shit aluminum casting.

Here are a few pics. Glad to see the inner engine paint job is holding up nicely. I need to clean her up though.

Little update on the car. I found a early 83 starion top of the line lsd, abs ac and 15inch wheels in the kjyard today, unfortunately it didnt have the stock hood.

I snagged the front strut assemblies, and the lsd for the challenger.

I also put in a order for some sw20 kyb agx for the front and will order some coil over sleaves and springs tomorrow.

I'm going to machine the starion lsd down to work with the 180mm challenger diff. Should be done in a week or 2 depending on how long it takes to get the parts.

I'm still headless, I have to go look in my parts garage and see if I sitll have a head with bent valves, if so, I may use it, or see if my old marnel is sitll in the machine shop. It's been a few years :cry:

A bit OT, but was that engine painted that orangey reddish color?

I did a quicky spray with some engine paint. I think it was chevy red. Then when my water line broke the rusty water sprayed all over the engine bay, that dark area is from the water, and then oil dripping down fromturning the engine around on the stand.

well, I pulled the head off my old plymouth arrow truck that bent the intake valves due to the lower crank gear breaking from the previous owner installing it backwards.. I stripped that head down and will be installing the valves off another head onto it after I take them over to a friends and use their valve grinder.

God I hope I get this thing on the road again pretty soon. Both my vintage mitsu are down right now :roll:

I can if they are still there but the yard isnt cheap. They are around 50 for a aluminum wheel and tire. The local u pull its keep getting bought out and the prices keep getting worse :roll:

170 bucks for 2 struts and a lsd center :td:

There was never a gen of Challenger that was FWD K car based. You have that mixed up with the Charger. One gen of Charger was the FWD Omni/024 platform changed to Charger/Turismo 2.2.

The Challenger has always been RWD, whether it be American or Japanese version.

What does the Galant fwd have to do with the Galant Lambda rwd(which we never got.. other than as the Challenger/Sapporo twins). Neither one has to do with the K car. Get it right. :roll:

Read your post, I corrected you on, it makes NO sense, dude.

Other than the 1st gen American Challenger, the 2nd gen Mitsu Challenger.. there were NO other gens of Challenger, which you say "is next gen is K car basically". The latest gen is the NEW 2009 American one.

Prove me wrong. Just because you own a Challenger doesn't make you an expert. I owned 2 Sapporos, a 78 and an 82. What am I special? :evil:

dud galants came as generations. The challenger is nothing more than a galant lambda Pull your head out of your ass. This generation lambda, eterna, etc.. were the last of the rwd galants, the next generation is front wheel drive.

Pull your head outta your own ass, the fwd Galants still weren't Challengers. I know, the Galants came as generations(no shit).. the 1st US version Galant was the 1985 fwd version called the Sigma platform thru 88-89. The Galant Sigmas in the 80s in Japan were rwd.
