I just picked up my 83 Civic S yesterday from my local body shop. I bought this car 7-8 years ago in NJ with 50000 miles and a little rust in the usual spots (under rear bumper, behind one front fender). It has been in the barn since then, until this fall when I got enough time to pull the trim and interior off of it. I had some aftermarket patch panels that they used to fix the rust in the rear, plus a new RF fender from Honda. The car is now back in the barn - as soon as it warms up I'll start putting parts back on.
I've had the usual 1980's Honda parts success - I got 4 of the body side moldings from Vintage parts but no-one has the other two. Same for most of the emblems and rubber - about 50% success rate.
The only new problem is that the fuel filler pipe is bubbling in spots - anyone have a good used one?

Finally got the time to finish putting the Civic S back together. It is pretty much stock, except I got a JDM grille from Ebay to dress up the front a little. I want to do the timing belt, but otherwise it is ready to go back on the road.
Next project is my 86 CRX-HF with 80k miles, then I can start on the S600.

That's beautiful. I can't wait to see what you do with your CRX and S600.

That looks great, Ken! Were you able to find the trim and fuel filler neck you were looking for?

Was just thinking how interesting the detail painting of the steel wheels looked in the freshly painted shots, I wondered how they got so shiny in the first of the current until I saw they were alloys next shot down!

It's great to see this generation Civic get a refurbishment. Not too many New Jersey Civics lived this long. I was always a fan of the "S" model.

The upholstery matches well with the car's color.

Or was it the other way? :D

Nice car. I saw a red Civic S model like this at the junkyard some months back, it broke my heart.
