I just got this, it looks like a 18rgeu, with 92mm pistons and pretty mild porting. stock cams. I am going balls out on this thing. it's going in my corona mark II. very excited to find this so close. it was in a storage unit 30 miles north. craigslist! I almost fell over when I saw it in person. it was shrink wrapped and had the super trick valve guides, a milodin oil pan, and lots of head work. curiously, it has someone 's name stamped into it. dr. bodiex.? i havent fully disassembled it, but it looks very clean and compression is very good. any more info from the gurus here? No information, but I do have a Mallory Uni-Lite Dizzy that will fit your motor if you are in need. Let me know. Nice score!! I love the DOHC valve cover. I could never find that particular cover for any of my RG's in the past.

I am interested in the dizzy. pm sent. robakun, just a long block, no manifolds. do these motors have a forged crank? the plan is a turbo motor. the low compression 18r-geu is a good starting point me thinks. i'll tear it down and take some pics.

18rgu: Has air injection and egr, yamaha designed head, an electronic distributor that should be replaced with performance use and unrebuildable carbs. 8:7:1 compression ratio. 120hp.

18rgeu: adds electronic fuel injection same yamaha designed head and 8:3:1 compression ratio. rated at 120hp.

Info from trd book.

Late 88253 & all 88270 heads have dual valve springs. All have forged cranks. I have an extra EFI manifold/injectors/tb/harness here if yours is missing. Camshafts also, if you are looking for something more aggressive than the stock grinds.

here some more pics. I hope those hks pistons are in good shape. I need a flywheel, alternator, manifolds and just about everything else. this is gonna be expensive. How do I identify the block? It's a 270 head, does the block match?ImageImagewhy isnt either of my (dipstick) holes drilled. (i couldn't resist.) kinda strange.ImageImage

Those HKS pistons are not going to be good for you. I went through 3 engines with them and they all blew because of the ring lands on those pistons. The compression is 10.5 and with the USA gas, you will have to really adjust the ignition back to prevent pinging. Do yourself a favor... get rid of them.
