haha, nah just kidding (not yet anyway)

Hi, I'm Dan and this is my Datto

I was given the car to use as a paddock basher by my cousin who had it sitting in his father in-laws paddock for a couple of years, didn't know much about them at the time so I grabbed it off him and towed it home.

Got it started easy enough but the clutch had seized and it had no brakes, so a new clutch/slave cylinder went in, fixed the brakes and all was good (all tho a little rough around the edges)

So I started searching the net for parts and info while the Datto was airing out (dead rat behind the dash) only to find out that it was becoming a sort after model among Skyline enthusiasts. 5spd manual, black unmolested interior, 2 doors, minimal rust.

Cheers Dan

I don't care what anyone says! Skyline Japan is my fave right after Ken-Mary! Especially the sedans!

Lovely C210! Welcome to JNC! Any plans for her? Like maybe shipping it to my house?

Wow good find. Time to get some round tail lights!

The sedan version, called the 180K over here, were used as taxis. Surviving examples are not much loved by olskoolers..

It was a pretty good find, but finding parts for it is a pain in the @$$. I wouldn't mind a set of those round stove top tail lights but so pricey for what they are.

After I gave it a good once over and clean up i started fixing the small amount of rust with new steel, that's turned into a full respray. I'm organising a painter at the moment to finish it off for me.

This is what colour it's going to be

The round lights with chrome panel are expensive, the other type with painted panels (a bit different in design) are much cheaper. What's the going rate over there?

Allow me to echo my love for the green color (which looks like it was originally, no?)

Please translate something for us yanks.. what exactly is a "paddock basher"? :)

Welcome to JNC.

haha, thanks guys

No hot plates for now, the odd set that comes up for sale are around the $400-$500 mark and I'm on a budget, paint now and wheels and low next.

This is a "paddock basher" the skyline was given to me to be used as a replacement for this one when the first clutch disintegrated, but it's still going strong.

It's a 200b or at least it was (full of rust)

Ah, I see. Banger in British, Derby in Yank. :)

So is that green the OG color? Don't think I've ever seen one before.

yeah it's the original colour, but the green across the back is a different shade (still a 70's colour so it's ok  )

I know, I know, but we wouldn't do it if it where salvageable (and nothing but a Datsun could take this kind of abuse)

3 clutches and counting

Well I wired in a new stereo last night it's going in the glove box and the original is staying in, it's still hooked up and works through the front center mounted speaker.

I'm in the process of building a fiberglass box for the parcel tray, It'll either house a pair of 6" splits or 6x9's depending on the budget.

But who cares about that shit when there's a supercharger to play with

I'm going to run it pumping low boost through a reconditioned 310 Holley into the stock L24, still making the mount for the SC12 charger. I made a new idler pulley that replaces the old aircon idler and modified the aircon pulley to suit the charger.

Only doing it cause I can

That's how we roll 8)

haha,

Picked up a better manifold (E30) and made another (better) adapter for the Holley carby. Adapter and manifold are port matched/polished. Next will be a plenum style enclosure that bolts to the adapter plate, modify the carby linkage and relocate some of the polution gear :td:
