Hi all, my first post here...

I've had my 1986 MX73 Cressida for a while and am planning to do a few modifications. The current steering rack is worn and has a few oil leaks so it needs some work. I was thinking it may be easier and cheaper to just replace it with a 2nd hand one off a later X-chassis model, like a X81 or even the later X90 or X100 series. Has anyone had any experience with this conversion and knows if it is worth doing ?
thanks in advance :)

I'm about to replace the rack in my wagon. Why not just use another X73 rack though?

the 73 rack is too slow, too many turns from lock to lock and the turning circle is huge

if i can replace the rack, i would like no power steering too
