That looks like a FIAT 124 key. What are the numbers on it?

HD8 H80

my locksmith said the keys dont fit, so he made one for me. i'd say he's a pretty good locksmith for his age and only charged 5 USD for 2 keys and labour.

Just out of curiosity, have you been in touch with Brian Baker of HondaSportsRegistry.com? He can probably build one of these with is eyes closed and may be able to help you with advice/parts.

Kev, I hope those carbs work with your engine. Those appear to be the early (64) carbs, if I recall correctly, they may not mate up correctly to the 65+ engines. I believe it is the ports on the intake manifold that won't line up.

Hi Ben

I did, he linked me to the carb set that was on ebay. But I haven't heard from him lately. I have been communicating with the Just-S members off yahoo and have been receiving great help and parts.

Seems like most people have told me to look for Michael Ortmann, as he does lots of the Refabricated parts. This is going to be a long journey on restoration

That's a lot of rust. You have my respect for taking on such a project.

thanks ben

i really didnt know how much rust there is behind the metalworks until the welder took apart parts of the car out. the ex-owner had 7 cars, this was the one rusting badly, especially the house is located in the island beach of penang. other than that, i believe this could be the only surviving s600 coupe in malaysia. and perhaps in south east asia, with the original engine. i did spot 2 coupes and 1 convertible in a thai forum, but they have been converted to other engines. i dont think i can find another car like this in asia, out of japan that is. hopefully i could finish up the restoration one day

Such a remarkable work done. This is the first time I see this Honda.

once it's done, his car will be very unique. :tu:
