I am doing up a 1966 rt40 corona here in United Kingdom parts are very hard to locate, currently i have the engine stripped and in need of all gaskets could some one tell me if you guys have the same engines/gaskets to the UK models that came in England. Engine code 2-R any help would be great thanks

We had the 3R-C. I would think they are mostly the same but I'm not 100% sure. The person to ask is:

From what I remember...

2R=1500CC 12R here is 1600 but head gasket and other bits fit.
4R 1600 gasket fits, also so do o/s timing gears.
Distributors all interchange, mainly the throw out and advanced curves.

Best to try to get RT40 parts book and then you can often se part numbers supercede to one common number.

2R were fitted to Utes, 2 door coupes and four door.

Late model engines fit RT40 I have used 8RB 18R 18RB 18RC engines in an RT40 easy to fit much better power gain.

Even a 2T will fit an RT40.

There are also some twin cam engines in RT40 serie (RT56g) 1600S
