That guy bought a farm and now its paid for itself with profits to spare.. I would say I wouldnt sell the cars but he has three of every one now.. I think he can spare a few.. haha
Well a few years later the real story about that barn came up.
There was some sort of economic downturn in Portugal a few decades ago, so a guy (obviously quite wealthy) started snapping up cheap classics, a habit he maintained for decades. Next thing he knew he had so many that he had to keep a whole bunch in a massive barn. The amazing thing is that this isn't all....he has dozens more cars secreted in other locations too.
One day he discovered that local kids kept breaking into his barn, so he had all the windows and doors welded up. And there they sat since the 1980s I believe.
A couple of years ago, curiosity got the better of him and he went to cut open the barn with a friend, who was a classic car dealer. That car dealer took those original snaps and put them on his dealership website with a cryptic comment about "what a barn find!". Anyway the internet does the rest and somewhere along the line the story about a guy buying a farm and discovering the barn was added to the tale.
About 6mths ago the guy invited a UK classic car mag to go and see the collection. Because he's offloading them, but IIRC the prices were not cheap.
