I received this rusty heap in 2006. It was my boyfriends token of love to me. He bought it from the original owner in the South Bay. She was a little old lady who had it sitting in the back yard. The wheel well had nests in it! I'd never seen anything like it. She is a 1970 Honda AN600.

In the spring of 2007 we decided to do something with it. We started to strip it.

Since there was SOOOOOOOOOOOO much rust, Tommy felt it needed a bath in some acid.

Here she is getting set to go

He's really strong
Image

OMG.. after it had it's bath, we found out that the acid may have compromised the glue that was used to attach certain pieces of the car together.
Image
Image

Off to get 6 point cage. And while she's at it... stitch her up!
Image

He's awesome and I love what he did to my girl!

I had been eyeballing paint colors for awhile and wanted a color that popped. But, it had to be cute! Baby Pink with flakes did not go over well with Tommy  Mellow Yellow was it...

Some Cosmics for my little lady..

Had the seats reupholstered...
Image

Put it all back together...

and that, my friends, is how Daisy came to be.

Her first show was JCCS 2007. She was not totally completed; just needed the badges and vents to be refurbished/cleaned/etc.

We got to meet J Leno.

I was interviewed for Car Crazy and was featured too!

Welcome to JNC. I'm glad you went with the light yellow instead of pink!

To be honest, I didn't want the cage at all. I wanted to keep it original. But for safety reasons and the acid dip, I didn't have a choice. Mikey, (the guy who did the metalwork) did such an AWESOME job using smaller tubes for the cage... most people don't notice or realize I have a cage. And it's painted yellow as well, so it blends nicely :) compromise... it's not always easy
