So i bought a lowering block setup for a toyota hilux 2wd,thinking same underpinnings,but it was wrong,bigger u-bolts...

So the rear needs to go down 1/1.5 inches,and the og leafs are tired.Seems like i could call afco and have them make me leafs,but does anybody know the og spring rates?Does anybody make a kit?

Any info would be appreciated,my baby needs to be lower also a picture of said rear below...

have you tried going to a 4x4 shop? sometimes they do work on leaf springs and would be willing to do a lowering leaf.

theres a spot out here in cali that does them for 450.

you have to drill your stock stuff to get the u-bolts to work... im pretty sure everyone does that.

I just used leaf spring spacers on mine. I cut the stock ubolts above the thread, added an extension to them, welded the extensions in place, and placed it back on the car. Not the greatest fix, but it works.

This is how mine came out.

I had some U-bolts for my Corolla custom made at a local spring shop. The guy saw my old one and instantly said "Suzuki Samurai?"
That could be a lead.

just go to tractor supply or something and get Stainless All thread get a piece of 3in pipe and make u-bolts. I made my own using 3 in pinion cut blocks and no problems at all. But i wouldmlike a new set of springs or a stiffer set

Hey superboosted. Just go to a 4x4 suspension place. Just like the other guy said. Tell em to make longer u bolts for your lowering blocks. If they can't do it they know where to send you, cause these guys are always lifting or lowering trucks. Also, if your springs are weak, go to your local parts store and get a spring helper kit. I have two corollas and one has the helper spring kit. Handles way better than the one without. Cost thirty bucks.

I was assuming the helper kits also lifted the rear...they say that on the box,as i had em' in my hand two days ago...

Ok. That might be true. So for thirty bucks slap them on, find out how much they lift the car if any, cause remember I have two corolla's, one with and one without, and the one with does'nt seem lifted but maybe an inch. Then have your ubolts built to lower the car with your lowering blocks.

Hey kodama. Did you just buy that corona recent? There was one for sale for 900 on craigslist a while back. I called and he'd just sold. Then that guy was selling. It looks like the same car. I used to own a silver 78 corona with flat black rewinds that I just sold, have you ever seen it. I'll post pics. Anyways yours looks sick.

I actually purchased it from some hippie lady down in the north valley for 700.

I just finished lowering my rt105 today and there's a company Tucson here that made one of me (Arizona Springs) and it cost me $35 for the u bolt set. They also do leafsprings but I did not ask them how much as I only wanted the u bolts.

Next will the front. here's how she looks like with the 2" drop.



btw, where did you get your front spoiler?

^ohhh looks nice And the spoiler is early corolla,and i got her on ebay..But I would say the MK1 VW spoiler is the way to go..

don't know if the front spring o.d. are the same as the 78 rt105 but I was able to find an upgrade much thicker spring for my 78. It came off out of early ford Mazda courier trucks. they have much thicker coil and about an inch shorter than my stock spring.
