I need some advice.
This car will be my daily driver, and also my canyon carver. I don't know what to do motor-wise. It's got an auto 3TC, so I figured I could either rebuild the 3TC (really just gaskets as it marks its territory a lot!), put some 40mm side drafts on it, 5 speed, and cam or something like that. That said, I've always wanted a 4AGE. Figure a 4AGE 16 or 20 will do better being revved-up as one must do in the mountains. I'm also assuming a 4AGE will do the fun stuff AND get better mileage. I am a mountaineer, so I drive long distances and drive fun roads rather out of necessity.
I'm assuming the 3TC can make more power, but isn't so great being revved sky high for 5-15 minutes while bombing a mountain road.
Also, for suspension, I'm figuring the "cheap" way would be to get swift springs all around, Koni/whoever sport dampers, Watts Link or Panhard bar upgrade, Whiteline or whoever anti-sways and the usual kit for tower strut bars and stiffening up he chassis. Or, coilovers up front, maybe one of them conversion blocks in the rear so one could run coilovers back there as well.
Also, tips for fender mirrors... I'm probably going with some Mooneyes ones, as I don't care if it's perfectly historically correct. And, an AE86 GTS rear end or anything with disc brakes I can throw a KAAZ 1.5 in.
What do you guys think?
