LHD coupes???

which countries did they sell in, how many, what trim level etc etc and roughly how much do they sell for these days? If they were cheap and could be rego'd in China, I would be stoked to have one when I go over to work in a few years time  :tu:

Ed... How much did that spoiler cost all up shipped and all, Im quite fond of them.

That car is from the Saudi Arabian market. They got the Hard Top, Sedan, 4dr Hatch and wagon (van). Base was the DX, then CDX, GL and GT (n/a on van).

Engines were L18, L20, and L24, all carbureted. No diesels that I know of and no FJ20... Transmissions were 4 or 5 speeds with an auto option.

Only the GT came with independent rear suspension and rear discs, so that would be the one to have. The rest came with a 4-link rear and drums similar to what the wagons got in all markets.

Finding one would be nearly impossible, unless you actually went there. If you find one, get me one too!

This is what the R30's are up to in Saudi Arabia

The coolness quotient here is killing me. Which is a good thing.

Hmmm......the F31 I have only has the front windows being openable.

The rears are bonded to the body.

think I scored it for roughly NZ$80 off YAJ, then $20 for "slow" shipping (in the back of a van that was sent over via car carrier)

Anyway. More part numbers, still a bit odd seeing brand new R30 parts!

Hey Orion, we might think about putting the part #'s in the post text. That way if the picture server goes down, or you move the image, the part# and description will still be searchable. Make sense? :tu:

I need a set of those too. One of mine has a crack in it. :(

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about. I'd love to get as many generations of Skylines together as possible and snap some well mooded and lit pictures like that. I've got 1st Gen, 4th Gen and my brother has 8th Gen, who wants to fill the gaps?? Mind you, they should really all be able to drive, I guess.. which means the 4th Gen is out at the moment. :(

Were there some Prince Skylines sold in the USA back in the mid 50s?

Late 50's, but yes. I thought I had the photo on email or at work but no luck thus far, I'll have a dig around at home. I'm sure I posted it somewhere and I think I got it from Steve (nzmax) though perhaps it was from Hideki... hmm.. I'll find it!

Well, technically the US got the 1st Gen. Skyline. That was it officially though, for a long while.

Um... No.

No Skylines ever sold here until about 5-6 years ago, when they brought in the base model Skyline as an Infiniti G35.

Are you talking about the 1st gen Nissan Skyline or 1st gen Prince Skyline?

OK, so despite it being a touch off topic, just to further these comments. I grabbed the pictures from home. Decided rather than to just slap them here and then subsequently forget about it or for it to be lost in a thread that wasn't in the topic of such things that I would just do a post on my blog about it for easy reference, there's already a Skyline History on there so a little bit more won't hurt. :D

My apologies. I assumed you were referencing the first Nissan Skyline. Thanks for the clarification.

Went out of town for a few days, got back today and was bored (not returning to work until Thursday), so I finally decided to test-fit the rear spoiler :)

Too used to seeing the rear of my car spoiler-less, but will probably grow on me over time if I end up fitting it. it's FRP too, which is a nice touch - was expecting rubber.

Wouldn't some European countries have received the R30 in LHD as well? I recall seeing some LHD C31 Laurels from the same era on this forum.

did a bit of poking around the interwebs on a hunch, and Nick (stagefumer) was indeed correct - the spoiler is a JENESIS one, which is in turn a copy of the original ADthree Aerofinisher wing from the '80s.

Nice little bonus 8)

That would be good if they did, would make it alot easier then finding from Saudi Arabia. Lucky I have a couple of years up my sleave to look while my bank balance recovers from my house.
