i thought that since there are a few R30/R31 Skyline fans on this site (Orion, Benny_Blanco and myself to name a few) perhaps we could create a dedicated thread?

That r30 running z31 ignition, I see a ballast resistor, Different fuse box location and style.. Wiring looks a lot different.

www.utilitas.co.jp used to sell heaps of (expensive) DR30s but they seem to have branched out into the world of Landcruisers now instead :lol:

(their DR30 sedan was the inspiration behind me buying mine)

Here's some trivia....the Sth African market got a 2.8L R30 coupe

But looking at all these super low DR30s gives me the willies! One interesting design feature of the DR30 is that the sump hangs about an inch below the crossmember, and it's fwd of the crossmember too, so is the first thing to ground on a steep bump or dip. So any of these slammed DR30s would be swapping sump paint with the road on a daily basis

It happened so often on my DR30 this is the mod I had to come up with so that I didn't have to get the sump welded all the time

When I got my sedan, it was so slammed that the sump was less than 40mm above the surface of the road.

not surprisingly there was already a nice big dent in the damn thing, and of course this interferes with the oil pickup something fierce - it makes a horrendous whining noise when cold (it's so loud, people always ask if I have a gilmer belt)

The later tekamen oil pickups should have a slot cut into the bottom of the oil pickup tube, so that if the sump is squashed against it, it should still be able to suck oil thru the slots...but yeah mine had the oil pump whine too!
