 Post subject: Del Sol Vtec Question

Hi Honda fans!

Quick ?. Why are Del Sol VTECs not autocrossed as often as the Civic Si? Is the Del Sol suspension inferior to the Civic Si? If so how? I've read that the ZC 160 hp motor is often swapped into older Civic Sis so there must be a reason other than Del Sol styling.

What do ya think?

They tend to be more rare and therefore more expensive than your standard civic hatch.

but this is the main reason...

Del Sol S curb weight: 2295 lbs
Del Sol Si curb weight: 2414 lbs
Del Sol VTEC curb weight: 2522 lbs

EG VX curb weight: 2094 lbs
EG CX curb weight: 2108 lbs
EG DX curb weight: 2178 lbs
EG Si curb weight: 2390 lbs

These are 92-95 specs.

it's also due to the fact that the rear window, although cool that it rolls down, literally cuts the chassis in half.. not good for strength.

^ yea that too. Ride around in one with a stiff suspension and you can hear the roof flexing and rubbing.
