That's awesome! Lots of great box-types on display, and that Colt looks pretty good too! Shame there weren't any Celestes, though...

Awesome, thanks! I love seeing Pinoy-owned Celestes, they always look fantastic and taken care of.

Jun, can you delete the last pic? It's very disturbing and it might create a wrong impression that Filipinos go out to car meets in their undies...

Topps if you're reading this, it's YOUR fault you had to rock that sh!t. You'll never hear the end of it!!

Hi guys,

My name is Ben and I have a 1981 Mitsubishi Colt Sapporo 2000 GSR: (Here's a picture)
Image
My car was featured here: http://www.autostylo.blogspot.com/ (November 23, 2008 post)
I live here in Baguio and we also have a handful of lambdas here. I saw one exactly like mine and some blacks.
Through the years I saw a decline in the use of old Japanese cars here but we still have a lot. Most of them are in running condition but are no longer being used because of the oil price hike we have. It's a pity. There are a lot to choose from and you can get them really cheap. So if you come up to Baguio, you might want to check out the local residents or the local news paper (midland) we have here. :) I'd really love to see those old cars get good homes.

I've been using JNC for a long time now and our office recently decided to limit the websites we can open... I've found some loop holes but some websites are just hard to find ways to open... which unfortunately includes photobucket--which means I don't see most of the pictures you guys are posting. Wish I could. :) Can you give me other sites where your pics are posted?

Thank you,

Ben.

you already posted your car, you said its a 1979 galant lambda super touring, not a 1981 Mitsubishi Colt Sapporo 2000 GSR

speaking of 1981 Mitsubishi Colt Sapporo 2000 GSR, here's what we found in the junkshop

a real 1981 sapporo 2000 gsr(a164a), with power steering, independent rear suspension, sunroof, 4g63 turbo, digital gauges, power windows, etc., though the car is a junk... for now, the real plan is just to get the motor, power steering and brakes from it and transplant it to a lancer boxtype(a175) but my brother decided to build it

Yeah well, this is technically a 1979 Mitsubishi Galant Lambda, but it was sold with a lot of names like 82 colt sapporo, 82 dodge challenger, 82 plymouth sapporo, 79 galant lambda, 82 scorpion, etc... when my car was bought, it was sold as a Colt Sapporo (said in the original registration in 1982) weird cause the colt sapporo looks different... i already researched a million times and I dont know why they put sapporo in the registration instead of lambda. but yeah, it should be a Galant Lambda. And that's the reason why I should stop referring to my car as a colt sapporo to stop confusing people. LOL.

Anyway, glad to see a lot of happy enthusiasts with a lot of even happier cars. You guys should do a road trip here at northern Luzon.

Hi again,

I just had to look at the original registration of my car and I do apologize for my mistake... its not a 1982 Colt Sapporo... it says there "1981 Mitsubishi Colt Sapporo 2000 GSR" 'cause I've checked, the 1982 version is called "1982 Mitsubishi Sapporo 2000 Turbo."

God, more names to confuse me... LOL!

Anyway, that find of yours is really nice. Looks like the body is still in good condition. I'd agree with your brother to rebuild it. :D Awesome!

Thanks,

Ben

Sweet, as they say "you'll be suprised on what you will find in junkshops nowadays", my old 13x7 ADVAN A3A was also purchased on a junkshop near our place, the owner of the shop didnt know the value of the mags thats why he sold it to me cheap..^_^

car loks good enough to rebuild to me. Those cars are an absolute blast to drive. They slide nice too. Very fun. Toss a 14b and a intercooler on that and you will be having a good time.

So does that have irs or a 4 link?
