Here are some pics of my 117 Coupe. I bought it in Japan in 2002 and restored it while I was living there. In 2004, I shipped it back to New Zealand.

The Giugiaro Edition was a limited production model introduced in 1979 by Isuzu as a 'thank you' to Giorgetto Giugiaro for the positive reaction to the Ace of Clubs (Piazza/Impulse) show car at the Geneva Motor Show.

In Japan.

Gorgeous! They kept making the same cars (well, basically...) for a long time back then.

From memory, Paul wasnt it? I used to be on the Piazza forums way back when i had two of the electrical nightmares.

Welcome, wouldnt be bad if you put some pics up of your old Piazzas and maybe convinced Alex to come on as well [that said, with the amount he owns i reckon the forum would crash LOL]

can you provide more info on this limited production model pls?
-what are its specific features in which it is different from "common" versions?
-what was the number of "Giugiaro Edition" produced?

I'm asking because my 117 was specified as "designer's version model" in catalogue list, too. But (shame:) I don't know much about the edition's specific. Maybe I have a "plain" car and the catalogue list was a fraud.

Thanks in advance.

It would appear that your model is a 117 Coupe Blanc (white) edition.

The Blanc edition was a limited model released in 1979. Only 300 were produced. It had 23 unique differences from the 117 Coupe XC model on which it was based.

These included;

'Special White' paint colour
White bumpers
Tinted windscreen with blue sun strip
Power windows
Electric mirrors
4 speaker stereo
White alloy wheels
A/C
Blue carpeting
Blue/white seat trim
Blue/white interior trim
Blue/black instrument panel
Silver trim on the outside mirrors

Hope this helps.
