Hi folks from NZ, great site, nice to see so many cool cars you guys have here; personally one of my favorite cars (among others) of the 70's period was the Subaru 1400 GSR coupe (quite rear now!) would love one of those.

Recently however did manage to acquire a bit of 80's history in the form of a tidy Subaru XT GL 4WD coupe (imported new to New Zealand by it previous owner from USA) although it has'nt got the 70's styling I prefer, it is still quite a smart looking car and really handles well I've just returned from trip to the southern elps and really enjoyed the drive.. great little car.

included a few pics from my trip../Users/macuser/Desktop/IMGP3488.JPG/Users/macuser/Desktop/IMGP3528.JPG/Users/macuser/Desktop/IMGP3529.JPG/Users/macuser/Desktop/IMGP3545.JPG/Users/macuser/Desktop/IMGP3548.JPG

That scenery truly is breathtaking. The futuristic look of the car is such a contrast. Welcome to JNC :tu:

Hi, ok couple more pics but don't wana bore ya too much so I've included a couple pics of my Citroen 2CV I owned and um.. painted ( I'm an arty dude) when I lived in Oxford UK, I really loved this car and I even drove it to Scotland! always attracted attention for some reason  only has a tiny 600cc flat twin (horizontally opposed just like a Subaru!) and it could do 75mph! included a pic of a Subaru 1400 GSR i want one of these! enjoy!

what are the wheels on your XT??

My wheels are standard rims! just took off the hub caps and thru on some stainless wheel rings to give it a slightly retro and sportier look since we alloys are harder to come by, may get some 14in desert Rats for it if I do will post a couple of pics,
RE; the 2CV yep the whacky racer theme seemed right for that car!
cheers

I thought that's what you had going there.

and funny it's what I was considering with my wheels.

the pugs had too wide of an off set and I wasn't going to be able to go lower.
now I can slam it! :tu:
