It was just laying in the garage so I put it to good use!
Very very strong as well, I'll never break that sucker.

-Wiesco forged pistons +.040", Teflon coated skirts, full floating pins
-ARP rod bolts
-Bore and Hone +.040"
-Decked block for MHG
-Decked Head for MHG
-Reconditioned rods
-Dynamically balanced rotating assembly
-Align hone block
-new oil pump shaft bearings, rod bearings, main bearings

total cost........ hurts to say how much i spent on an engine for an old @$$ toyota

Waiting for my gaskets and new braided AN-8 oil crossover hose, need to decide on which MHG I want to buy (damn they are expensive$$$)

My parts should be here tomorrow, then need to finish building the shortblock with oil pump and other good ish like that.

every nice day is making me realize how much of this summer the celica is going to miss :(

A tiny bit more progress....

put on the oil pump, front cover, water pump, and AN-8 line for the oil crossover

Also if you look in the background of the pic you can see some more bodywork has started, but just to fill a few door dings so far.

Lots of progress today!!
installed and restored all brake, steering, clutch components.

Installed engine and transmission, installed afpr and hooked up rest of fuel system.
started wiring some stuff up as well.

Only worked on it for a few hours, I'll be back out tomorrow going at it!

It RUNS!


Ran very smooth!



Pic from tonight, close to finished, have to clean up some more wiring still.

What was done besides getting it started:
-mounted radiator
-filled radiator
-wired electric fan controller
-hooked up oil pressure gauge
-wired up starter
-wired up alternator
-installed spark plugs, wires, coil
-filled oil
-installed wideband O2 bung and sensor
-bolted up the entire exhaust up to the DP
-installed driveshaft
-filled trans
-tightened diff housing bolts, was leaking a lil
-filled diff

I drove the car last night, kind of just toss it together to take it for a quick ride.
No headlights, fenders, hood, bumpers.

Just ran on stock boost, and did a couple acceleration and vacuum pulls to break in the engine. then did a full throttle run or two. Oh man, it's fun, and scary.
