I do plan on painting it all one color. Ill most likely be painting it white.
I will do my best, but since its my first paint job on a car, it will probably turn out like shit. lol

make sure its not bleach white, people always paint things plain white and it looks real bad, make sure its at least slightly cream or whatever.

Things removed -

Bumpers
Grill
Headlights
Taillights
Sidemarkers
License plates
Seats - Front and back
Door panels
Carpet

And some parts in the engine bay, just to clear things out to pull the motor.
Getting Dry ice soon to put in the car and break the sound deadening out.
Started sanding a little, but waiting to get an air sander.

Will have more pics of the progress up soon if anyone wants to see!

Was the interior unsalvageable? I always prefer the period correct look but that's me.

Door panels and stuff were pretty bad. Nothing i could really do with them. There was electrical tape covering all of the rips and cracks. I would have kept it if it were clean.
A cage is going in this anyways.

Oh, and by nasty 1970's interior i meant just old and shitty. lol
If i could find interior for this i would buy it!

Thats what im doin!
When my brother gets over here with his welder, im gonna be fixing the rust spots and shaving the side markers.
And im hopefully going to get a sander today to use with my compressor.
Should have this thing sanded in no time.

Had a question.

Does anyone know what rear end would fit on my car? Would i be able to use an AE86 rear end and suspension? I want to get rid of the leaf springs, and be able to have an LSD rear.

Ill probably need something stronger, because a CA18DET is going in this car.

Getting rid of the leaf springs and going to a 4-link is by no means a bolt-in affair, not with any donor axle. It will require lots of fabrication and welding.

It's the type of mod where if you have to ask how to do it, you can't do it. :wink:

It's a 74 celica if it is the one I am thinking about.

try getting some traction bars for the stock rearend. I dont know how weak it is, but ae86 isnt any better strength wise im betting. They are quite weak.

In that case, the tape measure is your friend. Find a 4-link car with a similar track width and you'll be ahead of the game. An '83 Corolla or '79-82 Datsun 210 maybe?
