Welcome! You got that car for a steal. The rust spot on the rear 1/4 is easily fixed but that hole on the trunk is just bizarre, lol. Maybe there was a ding there. Congrats and thanks for rescuing that puppy!

Trunk lid looks fixable to me.

You don't know rust until you live in the midwest, lol.

As for the dashpad, if it has a covering you can "pull back", chances are the ACTUAL dashpad is cracked to hell and that's just a crappy covering someone put on it.

Neat car though, keep posting progress pictures!

Well if you look underneath the trunk lid, theres tons of rust that i would have to fix so it might be easier to just find one.
And yeah, im pretty sure its just a cheap dash cover, because the edges are folded and doesnt look that good. lol Oh well, its pretty clean.

When it comes to painting your car, prep-work is the key between a good and shithouse job. Spend lots of time on prepwork and it should come out pretty good.

Also, id recommend going a solid colour if its your first sprayjob - red, white, yellow, orange etc. Benifits of solids is even if you FARK up spraying it [ie, few runs, spray it dry etc] you have ALOT of scope for repairing it. Ie respraying individual panels wont lead to a difference in shade, can cut-and-buff your way to a good finish etc
