Hello all I am new to this forum so hope I am posting in the correct area. I have a guy that wants to trade me a 1974 corona II in good original condition. Not sure the miles but it is a clean car. I can't seem to find any info on what it would be worth and I have been researching for a while now. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you mean a 1974 Corona Mark II, what eventually evolved into the Mark II/Cresta/Chaser/Cressida line. Those are pretty rare and have nothing to do with that $36k RT40 Corona. But 15k is like top dollar for a 2-door. I have seen a cherry one offered for that on ebay, but I don't think it sold. Do with that information what you will.

As with many old Japanese cars, you can't go with blue book value. Sure, if you're just looking for one as transportation, but people who know what they are will pay more (and sell for more) than bluebook.

Yes Corona Mark II 2 dr but it is not cherry. Nice shape but would need some minor work to be cherry. I just could find very little info so wanted to get some input. For what he wants I am going to pass. Thanks for the input!

KBB, I agree. NADA Classic? It's been almost dead-on every time I check it. Admittedly it seems really low in this case, but if none ever come up for sale, it's tough to base the price on anything.

I find that NADA Classic is always a bit behind the curve, especially when it comes to Japanese cars. Like most classic car outlets, I'm sure their focus is on Euro and muscle and the J-tin is just an afterthought.

I'm not knocking them completely cause eventually they do catch up and it does take time to compile the data. But especially for some of the less common Japanese cars (Crown, Corona Mark II) they are dreadfully low.

Then again, I've been following mostly their Toyota prices for the past 10 years or so, and they might be more on the ball with Datsuns. For years after the AE86 began appreciating, they still had used A-to-B pricing...

Ive heard around 10k, but idk. Im not too good on pricing with older cars.

You have the previous generation if I recall correctly... robakun would be the best person to ask. He's owned and restored a few.

73 is the smiley face and if its the 2dr, it is the rare one. still not worth that much. a 72 is where the previous generation ended. still rare but not much demand out there so the value is as low as the demand. We cant figure out the value of a car without seeing pics... try to get some.

Ah ok, I got you confused with someone else. You have A Corona Hardtop, not the Corona Mark II. Different model. These old Toyotas can get confusing! Unfortunately there's still not enough data.
