1988 starion black cloth with checkered center. They hold you like a glove. They tend to fade to a dark blue after a while.

Well, I just dug out and installed my starion carpet. The entire front portion fits perfect,m but it comes up about 4 inches too short in the back. It's probably where the front of the rear subframe bolts in on the irs model that takes up the extra few inches. Either way it works for now. I can always extend it later if I can find some matching fabric.

Getting a bit closer. I have most of the dash bolted in, gauge cluster etc..

I also installed the 150mph starion speedometer but it doesnt quite fill in the gap. I'll have to get another bezel made for the gauge. Good enough for now.

I'm starting to find the parts of the dash that were broken and ust not very useable as I reassemble everything. Heck I even broke the plastic off my cluster :roll:

I'm not real worried as this car is never going to be anything nice like a show car. The whole build has been for me to go out and beat the hell out of it driving. I have on plans to trash the car, but I just wanted a reliable strong fun car. I think it's coming together nicely.

tsi, yeah I snagged that off a 83 at the jyard a while back. Too bad someone had snagged the hood before me!.

That was my reason to comment why I would leave the car in automatic form. Just because somebody has an opinion you do not agree with....does not mean you can flame them for it. But if you want to start trash talking on here? I can finish it :wink:

I'm confused... are you referring to the girl comment? I think that was meant to be a joke. But anyway, since floorboard is actually different between AT and MT models I'd have to agree with you.

Most of the people I hang around with feel the same about autos. You have to deal with the gas and brake being close together if you dont bend the brake pedal over a bit when you do the 5 speed swap. I usually wear low pro shoes like adida samba and even my size 12 feet can still hit the pedals ok. It always sucked not being able to wear my work boots and drive the 88 starion I use to have so I may take a torch, heat it up and bend the pedal over just a bit.

My old appliance with tallt ires than ruined my fenders.

Some oscam mesh about 14x6+15 with 195 60 14 tires

14x7 0 offset konig rewinds with toyo t1r 195 45 14

Watanabe rs-8 14x6.5 +13 with some 195 60 14 tires

1200s have the same problem. I purposely bought an automatic car so I could get the wider tunnel (makes engine swaps WAY easier), but it sucks that the pedals are so close together.

I still need the upper long window trim piece It would be the long trim piece from the front to back of the door above the windows. A friend from aus picked up the other pieces but he hasnt shipped them yet.

I havent updated this in a while.

Recently I have rebuilt the front calipers, installed a new master cylinder and brake booster. The joys of a car that has sat for 10 years,,,

Anyhow I;ve drive it around a little and the car was running great I forgot to add gear oil to the rear end I swapped in. To say the elast its pretty much topast. I'm hoping the gears are ok so I dont have to go pull a diff out of a monbtero, but I should find out in a day or 2. Luckily I still have my old rear end minus the gear set. It seems my work is never ending lol.

Most of the interior is in as well.

I might as well give my first driving impressions. Considering my wastegate mount is flexing a bit and bleeding off some boost, the car accelerates extremely fast. It's quite easy to light up a tire even at stock boost. I think with a lsd and tures I should easily be able to break into the high 12 second quarter miles

Other notes. The fiero radiator seems to be working excellent and doing a great job of cooling.

Some things of concern right now. I may have issues slamming the car with a 3inch side dump. It seems to be scraping a lot for not even being lowered much yet. .

I am also working on machining starion lsd down to work with the stock rear end, so there mightbe a viable option for lsd in the future.

MY rear end fun. I need to go buy a ring and pinion out of a 4x4 truck tomorrow so I can get this back on the road.

well, gear set is back in and everything seemed to check out. I'm now rocking a set of 3.90 gears. Interesting enough the gearset in my old diff was 3.307 which I have never even seen mitsubishi use. I'm going to try and save that gearset.

Tomorrow I'll swing by the dmv and get the car licensed then take it on another drive after I get some plug wires and reinstall the radiator. Hopefully this will be the last of the big issues.

I'm hoping to get my exhaust finished up tomorrow evening as well.

Well, I put 70 miles on the car today. It seems to be running pretty damn good, but I still have a bit of tinkering to do with the tps and timing. It's weird not having lsd. burning out in this cars just feels like the clutch is slipping but then you smell tire lol. It seems to really get up and go, Just a little more work and it should be done. I did some work on the exhaust today, but im still not quite happy with it. I am going to have to go to a multi tip sidedump tog et the car lowered. This 3inch is just whoring up my ground clearance. I'm also in dire needs of some heavy duty springs and good shocls

Other annoing things are the lack of any feel in the brake pedal even though it locks the brakes up. Dash lights dont work, and neither does the speedometer right now. The tach seems to jump around every now and then when cruising. The transmission im using grinds 3rd gear like no other, and I need to seal up the transmission tunnel.

tip on it is fine and angled how I want it, it's just trying to fab a exhaust without having a car on jackstands and a welder sucks. I did some mods to it and ended up cutting it a bit too short this time. I'm going to bring it down to a buddies this week and do some work on it.

I think I may try to shark nose the car as well.

Shes coming alonge nicely. Took the sidedumpo off for now so I could get the front lower. I'm reworking my exhaust plan. The wats from my lancer actually look decent on this thing when it's lowered. They are only 14x6 +13 too.
