 Post subject: finally some pics- 1978 corolla coupe

my banana yellow coupe, minor rust in the usual spots. running rouph, but ive got spark plug wires in the mail and im picking up new plugs today, hopefully. 2tc with a 4 speed. its my third toyota after an aw11 mr2 that i will always regret selling, and an mk3 supra that i always wonder why i bought.

Based on what I see in the video that motor looks to be running pretty good. But I'd definately change the basics. Cap, rotor, plugs and wires. Then that will give you a better baseline of what condition your motor is in. Pull the plugs out now and see how black they are. I'm willing to bet you have a fouled plug or two in there.

yes sir, i pulled one plug when i first got it home and it was a very sooty situation. im thinking a gasket/ rebuild kit for the stock carb as well as all the cap/ rotor plugs etc.. to get it to where it can pass cali smog, tho the only carb ive ever messed with taking apart was from a yamaha ttr125.
