I finally found a 1980 cressida like I had back in the day and will restore it soon. The car is silver with the maroon interior and has 70,000 original miles. The car was in the same family its entire time before I got it and really does not need much. My question is what color would look good with that interior or should I keep it close to stock? I painted my old one red, but I almost feel bad changing the color on this one.

Also, does anyone know where you can get new springs for this car?
Thanks,
Erik

U want stock springs or lowering springs because both are impossible to find. If u want it dropped u can use ae86, sw20, and camaro/fox body stuff,etc... This may help viewtopic.php?t=80&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 . Theres also lot of information on TC.net Also, I have a mx32 Im tryin to get rid of. it has ALOT of good parts you can use on your restoration. Its silver with blue interior, low miles, runs but has a knock. It was going to be my resto project but i lost my jo so its gotta go.

I am still working on the picture upload feature to this site. I am new to the forum, so bear with me on that. Thanks for all your comments and the info on the springs.

Black would be sexy with maroon interior? 8)

If you mean stock springs, I've had good success just going into my local chain auto parts store and ordering them. :tu:

silver's a nice colour on them; retain it that way. And a set of wire wheels would make it very classy!

Those are the links, not sure why they don't show up here. I am going to start restoring from the ground up and get to the painting by next spring. Looking at finding a nice set of rims that would go well with this.
Here is a look at my old one that I painted red at the time. Steel rims with Spiners on that one.

Keep that silver one stock.

That is too nice and too clean.

Great find. :tu:

I will keep it close to stock as I agree that it is very clean and a good survivor. I will post some pictures of my restore progress when I start in August. The interior is still stock and in pretty good shape. I will most likely have to redo the seats, but the rest should be good for a few more years. I have looked for years to find one in this condition and I can't wait to drive down the road again. :D
