 Post subject: 2nd annual SWDP BBQ get together So. Cal.

Ladies & gentlemen it's time to start planning for the 2nd annual SWDP bbq /get together / hang out. Were having it on August 15 @ the same park as last year..............from approx. 8am-4pm

This year we'll try to reserve a gazebo & if not the EZ-ups will work fine. This is a bring what you wanna eat BBQ & last year the food was awesome! ...especially the "chicksada" Afterwards we paln on cruising Foothill blvd. [route 66] which includes a visit @ the old Fontana Datsun dealer & then ending up @ the wig-wams for a few photos. Were hoping for visits from a few "old school" mini truckers from back in the day Bob hase & Ron mangus. Both of these guys remember the original SCDP club from the 70's, & actually Ron was a member back then & were hoping he can bring his old photos from back then to share. This event is open to any & all JNC members friends & family heres a few pics from last year....

OK we made a date change on the flyer. The BBQ will now be on the 16th which is a Sunday. Same times & location as well. We did this for a few reasons..there are a few other shows on the 15th & we did'nt want to conflict with them & there were a few guys who wanted to attend the BBQ but could'nt before. So now theres no excuses we hope to see everybody there The NEW flyer.................

Ok getting closer & we have an update! Guy reserved gazebo #2 today which has a fixed bbq & 5 tables............

& just a FYI Guy & myself will be buying plenty of burgers, dogs & carne asada [chicksada] but if theres something special you guys want to eat feel free to bring it. That way if we get a bigger than expected turnout we'll have plenty of food. Also ..Guy will be bringing his own bbq & we may need another. Heres a link to the map...

the gazebo we have is the 1st one on the right as you enter the lot...
Just like last year were asking the SWDP guys to help out & bring bbq supplies.
Guy-bbq , burgers , dogs
Mark- condiments , paper towels , burgers , dogs
Feel free to add to the list & ill update is as needed.
I also want to remind everybody that the park has a no alcohol rule, was'nt an issue last year but just a reminder. Heres a pic of gazebo 2.....

That's one I can make. Fontana is practically next door. Less than 20 miles away and only about 4 miles from where I used to live in Fontana. I no longer have a Datsun pickup but I'll show up if I still have the 810 at that point.

Stephen- it'll be good to see you again hope you can make it.
Were also hoping a few of the original So cal datsun pickup members make it with thier photo albums of the "back in the day" shows & hangouts.

2 weeks to go guys. We'll have 3 bbq's going all day so no food lines :lol: Come be part of a historic & fun event. After the bbq we will be cruising down Foothill blvd. [route 66] for a photo shoot @ the old Fontana Datsun dealer then ending up @ the Wig Wam motel for more pix.
