Semi-related.

The second generation maximas with the numer pad on the driver's door have a terminal on the driver's side turn signal light that allows you to power up the lock system so you can use the combination to get in when the car battery has died.

an old colt kres

before i found this i had to use a worn out key or a copy of a worn out key
so now i'll be using this "nos" key, and i can try to have a close copy made

simple things like this make me love the hobby :)

oh, and i'm in the process of refurbing the turnsignal atm

Triumph Heralds and Vistesse came with a key in the light cluster from the factory. The dealers were supposed to remove it, but sometimes they forgot.

It's an old trick, it's easier to find a Phillips head screwdriver than it is to break into a car
(or some cars at least)
